products to try to make it easier, it isn't as simple as 3

Likewise, you must have a blog and RSS Feed associated with
your site or product. It is vital that you take advantage

these places are excellent for getting your name and your
content noticed.

8. Long Tail Niche Marketing

One of the most effective ways to market online is to use
long tail keywords in your niche market. This simply means
instead of targeting very general and very competitive
keywords, you target less competitive long tail keywords in
a smaller niche market.

I have found this tactic especially good for affiliate
marketing, and the trick is to find the exact long tail
phrase someone is using in the search engines and then
construct content/url to match it. I find Brad Callen's
Keyword Elite software program extremely helpful in finding
those long tail keywords.

9. Guru Fast-track

One of the fastest and quickest ways to earn large amounts
online is to hook up with big marketing GURUs and use their
huge contact lists. If you have a high quality info
product, then JVs (joint ventures) with these savvy
marketers can be a very viable option for you to try.

These marketing gurus or experts are valuable marketing
tools you can use to your advantage. Granted, their
aggressive marketing methods do turn many people off, but
there's no denying their methods do work.

10. Micro-List Marketing

Micro-List Building is one of the most effective online
marketing tools you can use. Quite frankly, I have found
building a large opt-in list is not the real key to online
wealth but instead creating small micro lists for each of
your promoted products to be much more effective. You can
have hundreds, even thousands of these different
micro-lists. Use an unlimited autoresponder program like
Aweber to handle and manage all these lists.

Studies have shown interested customers may not buy on the
first visit, that it may take up to six or seven reminders.
So keeping in contact with an interested customer, one who
is looking and in the right mindset to buy, will definitely
increase your sales.

Here, rather then the hard-sell, the emphasis should be on
collecting contacts in order to give them helpful
informative content on the product they're interested in
buying. Supplying quality content should be your main goal;
let the selling take care of itself. If you get the first
part right, the sale will come naturally.

the saying goes. This is truer than a lot of people want to
admit. Unfortunately, the desire for money has superseded
personal integrity. I see it even in Yuwie, scrupulous
entrepreneurs presume the success is easier to have when
"taking people for a ride."  Don't do it, be true to
yourself as well as those you work with - Just help people.

Businesses that deal on the up-and-up and who's
philosophies are to serve above and beyond everything else
are the ones to succeed. Valued people are the best

nearly as familiar a sight in every home as a television.
Your home computer can be the key to bringing down that
extra income you need to keep your financial head above
water.  And who isn't struggling these days?  Home business
start-ups are popping up everywhere.

Isn't it time to use your computer's "down time" to
generate some extra income.  Sure, it's great for games and
family photos and ipod use, but what if it could do more?
What if it could form the basis for a home based business,
build on duplication.  Isn't that what computers do best?
Duplicate?  Duplicate ads.  Duplicate e-mails.  Duplicate
customers.  Duplicate dollars (legitimate
dollars counterfeiters look elsewhere).  We only are
interested in an honest home based business opportunity
here.

It all makes sense in a general way, doesn't it?  Isn't it
time to put your pc hardware to work to build a nice income
for you?  Maybe you need money for the kids' clothes.  Or
maybe you struggle with the electric bill month after
month.  Maybe you have put off taking a vacation for a few
years too long now and the stress is starting to show.  Or
maybe the mortgage payment is a awful strain and you see
your dreams of home ownership slipping away.

Well again, there are millions of reasons to start a home
business online with your pc.  But how do you find an
opportunity that will in fact do what it promises?  How do
you avoid the scams and junk in order to latch onto
something that will really put money in your pocket?

Well, first things first.  You must take a good look at the
cost of any home business opportunity you are considering.
Apart from the enrollment fee, you will want to look at the
ongoing monthly costs, as well.  What are your realistic
changes to cover those costs in the near future, hopefully
with income from the program itself?  Are any additional
expenditures required by the program, beyond the usual ones
like advertising and promotion?

Are there any restrictions on ways that you will be able to
market this product?  For example, many companies often do
not wish to be associated with sex or gambling sites.  You
may not be able to place ads there as your source of leads
for home based business.  Beyond that, some common sense
here is required.

Are there any copyright or license requirements that you
may need to take into consideration?  Better to find out in
the beginning than to be surprised later on after you have
invested in the program.

Is an affiliate program the way to go?  I certainly think
so, given the rich variety of affiliate sales programs that
are available.  A Google search of the internet on the
program name can give you an overview of opinion from
marketers already involved in the program and tales of
their success with it.  Or lack thereof.

Is there support available after you join?  Is expert
advice available?  Is there an active blog for the program
where marketers freely share tips and suggest valuable
resources?  Posters at such a blog can inform you ahead of
time of the mistakes others have already made, saving you a
lot of time in trial and error testing.  Needless to say,
this would save you dollars as well as you identify such
traps as advertising resources that do not pull, etc.

Does the company have a good track record?  This may take a
little more investigation, but you should be able to find
out how long it has been in business.  Consumer
organizations such as the better business bureau log
complaints, and a check of this may prove worthwhile.  You
certainly don't need a home based business scam, or one
that breaks the home based business laws.

Does the affiliate opportunity fit your personal style?
Will it be one that you are proud to share with others?
Will you hold your head up and greet new customers
enthusiastically because you have full confidence in the
product or service?  This can be difficult in the beginning
when your experience with a program is limited, but the
company should be building a bond of trust with you as time
goes on, enabling you to generate such enthusiasm.  If you
find yourself becoming disenchanted, or even ashamed of the
way the affiliate program conducts its business, it may be
time to move on to a superior affiliate marketing
opportunity.

Can you clearly identify your market?  For example, if you
are targeting home workers seeking a "type at home" kind of
opportunity, you will want to find ways to focus your
marketing efforts on that home typists looking for a data
entry home based business.  (These people would be
excellent prospects for a computer-based home business
opportunity, in fact, as you already know that they have
keyboard facility and need extra income.  The pet owner
would be another example of a specific market to target,
especially if you are selling collars and puppy treats.

Is your affiliate product competitively priced?  It is
unlikely that you will readily find new customers if they
can beat your price at the local Target.  There is a market
for expensive products out there, too, but a more modestly
priced product is probably your best bet when you are
getting started with a computer based home business
opportunity.  A lower costs means more affordability for
more people, which is a good place to start for home based
business selling.  If something is offered for free,
certainly a great many will be interested.

Will the family be involved in this business, or are you
going it alone.  Instructing children to respect the
evening hours that one parent is working and should not be
disturbed can go a long way toward the successful roll-out
of a new home office business.

As you can tell, there are many angles to consider before
diving into a home based affiliate income opportunity.
However, the discomfort and struggle you may experience at
the outset will gradually give way as you grow as a
successful online marketer.  Little by little, you will
build confidence and skill through your business building
efforts.  And these qualities can certainly pay off as
those affiliate program checks keep growing month after
month.  A substantial home business income is most
definitely achievable.  (But the one who must achieve it is
that person in the mirror.  Another way of saying, "If it's
to be, it's up to me.")

There are few that will dispute the power of email's
influence.  Whether you've noticed the spam in your junk
folder or the newsletter from your favorite website; email
has the ability to make us act - and quickly.  Wouldn't it
be great if you could harness the power of email for our
business website?  The good news is that you can with a
good mailing list.  But how do you create one?  Here are
five steps.

Talk to Your Friends and Family

When you have a group of people that you know, it only
makes sense that you might send out your business
information to them first, right?  Send a short paragraph
about what your new business is going to do, what it's
going to sell and any other pertinent information they
might need.  Include a link to your website and to your
mailing list to help them decide whether or not to continue
to receive the emails.  Chances are good that your friends
and family will send this email onto any friends they have
that might be interested too, creating a longer email list
with little work from you.

Put a Sign Up Form on Your Website

With the proper website design, you will be able to collect
the information from website visitors needed to send them
regular emails.  Put this mailing list option at the bottom
or to the side of your main email page and then make sure
that it's easily navigated to.  This will allow your
website visitors to decide whether or not this is something
they want to sign up for.

But Also Have an Opt Out Function

If you're creating the opportunity for someone to be on
your mailing list, you also need to create the opportunity
for them to easily opt out of it if it's not something they
are enjoying.  There should be a link at the bottom of each
email you send to them that allows them to opt out when it
seems like a good idea for them.  This makes signing up
something that's risk-free, which will attract more to your
list.  In addition, be sure to include a statement that you
will not share their information with anyone - that helps
people feel like they're safe from spammers.

Include a Mailing List Sign Up Option Everywhere

On every page you can, try to include methods for your site
visitors to sign up for your mailing list.  This will
encourage people to sign up whenever the mood hits them,
plus it will give them multiple reminders that you do have
a mailing list that can be easily accessed.  Include this
reminder on the bottom of each website page as well as in
various locations during the ordering process.

Make it Worthwhile to Your Site Visitors

When you want to add more people to your mailing list, it's
a good idea to make it worth their while.  Create a contest
for those who sign up within a certain period of time or
give out free reports and eBooks for those that sign up to
receive mailings.  You want to also make sure that each
email you send out is worth their time.  If you're just
sending links to your site or you are only emailing about
sales, you might start turning off a customer who doesn't
necessary want to buy something all the time, but who may
just want to learn more about the market you are working in.

The goal is to create a large mailing list that will get
notified whenever something big and important happens in
your business - and that this notification will drive them
into action.

Why Subscribers From Free List-Building Giveaways ARE Valuable!

Visit any popular Internet marketing discussion board and
you'll see a lot of discussion about effective ways to
build a list. Almost invariably, someone will suggest
entering one of the numerous free giveaways that you see
each month. Almost as quickly as this is suggested, some
other "sage" will point out that "freebie seekers" are a
waste of time... and that "they never buy anything."

Is this true, and if not, what is the key to eventually
turning them into customers?

In my 11 1/2 years online, I have participated in dozens of
free giveaways, and added countless loyal subscribers to my
lists. Some subscribers HAVE opt-ed out of my lists as soon
as they downloaded my free gift. Others have been on my
lists for years, and do purchase from me regularly.

Free giveaways are one of several very effective ways that
I've managed to build a database that numbers in the
hundreds of thousands (in several different niches).   I
share some of my favorite list-building methods in a short
report that I wrote on the topic here:

Before we get too far, I should probably explain what I
mean by "free list-building giveaways."  These are
generally cooperative efforts where several marketers team
up, each offers one (or several) free items from a central
websites, and then they all promote the giveaway website.

Visitors to these sites: register, and once inside, they
are presented with descriptions of each free gift, and
usually, they have to visit each contributor's website in
order to retrieve their free gift. The idea is that when
they visit the contributors' websites, each contributor
puts the potential subscriber through a "squeeze page"
where the subscriber has to subscribe in order to get the
gift. This is how it builds that contributor's list.

I don't ALWAY force visitors to my websites to register for
the gift because if they don't want to be on my list, then
I don't really want to force them. Instead, I often build
backend into my gift, or I offer an additional,
irresistible bonuses from within my original gift that they
do have to register to get.

I've actually discussed this topic with numerous people who
have had as much success with free giveaways as I have. We
all agree that part of "the secret" is that you have to
build a relationship with your new subscribers before you
try to sell them something.

"People buy from people that they know, like and trust."

It's your job as the marketer, and list owner, to get your
new subscribers to know, like and trust you.  That often
takes time.

One of the true masters at doing this though is my friend
Odinn Sorensen.  Odinn understands the process so well that
I recently had him on my radio show where we discussed his
list-building techniques for a full hour.  Odinn has added
as many as 5000+ new subscribers to his list from a single
giveaway, so I figured he could teach my radio audience a
thing or two.

Odinn explained that one of the keys to a successful
giveaway, and to getting subscribers that you immediately
start building a good relationship with, is to offer only
quality gifts.  You should NEVER give anything away that is
not actually good enough to sell.  To do otherwise insults
your new subscriber, and that's certainly no way to start
off a new relationship.

Another, not so intuitive reason that some free giveaways
are more successful than others, is that you need a good
theme for a free giveaway. People are suspicious. They want
to know  WHY anyone would give them something for free.
Without that good "reason why" many potential subscribers
won't even pay attention to your free giveaway.

Three excellent examples of free giveaway that demonstrate
my point are:

1) Odinn's Daddy's Birthday Giveaway, where his reason why
is that "as a birthday present to himself, on his 39th
birthday he quit his regular job."  To celebrate he's
giving gifts to his subscribers.  That's a reason that
anyone wanting to quit their jobs and run a full-time
business from home can relate to.  It gives potential
subscribers a warm feeling and they want to celebrate with
Odinn.

traffic alone won't make you any money.

If your visitors leave without making a purchase, your
traffic is as useful as a fork is to eat ice cream. And
unfortunately, only a very low percentage of online
visitors buy something on their first visit.

That's why you will have to make sure to draw them back to
your site, establish a trusting relationship and remind
them of the great products you're selling.

How would you do all this?

Use The Power Of The Signup form. The signup form is one of
the most critical elements of your website because it gives
you the tools to turn a visitor into a prospect.

The moment visitors complete a signup form, they give you
the permission and the ability to start a dialogue - a
long-term relationship that will hopefully translate into
sales down the road. That's why it's so important to design
a signup form that attracts your visitors enough so that
give you their name and email address.

It needs to offer value and create trust. Designing a
signup form might not be as exciting as creating animated
Flash movies or experimenting with different website
designs, but it is lot more critical to get right.

usually form the gateway through which revenue is

1. Keep Your Forms Short and To the Point Shorter forms
generally get higher completion rates. So strip your forms
down and ask for the absolute minimum amount of information
you need from your visitors. For subscription forms this is
often just a first name and email address. Sometimes you
might want to ask additional questions to gauge customer
views or collect marketing data. In this case you need to
be very careful. Is the additional information worth the
drop in sales you might create from expanding the length of
your form?

2. Mention Your Privacy Policy People are often reluctant
to give out their email on the internet. Stating a privacy
policy in simple terms can often boost form completion
rates.

3. Watch Your Submit Buttons Be careful not to create any
obstacles to the completion of a subscription. This is an
unwise thing to do. How often would one need to actually
clear a form this simple and start over? The problem with
the clear button is that a significant percentage of users
who are in a hurry will click on that button, see their
data get lost, and then give up in frustration. Remove all
CLEAR or RESET buttons. They don't help and can create
problems when clicked on by accident. To improve the form
above we would also suggest renaming the SUBMIT button to
something more meaningful. Never stick with the default
text "Submit." Change it to something like:
·"Subscribe Now for Free Training"
·"Get Your Free Report"
·"Claim Your Free Audio"

4. Make Your Form STAND OUT Often, your form constitutes
the core of your most wanted response on a page. In this
case the entire goal of the page is to get a visitor to
sign up. For pages like this the form should stand out like
a zebra on a subway train. It must draw the user's
attention.

5. Use Multiple Pages to Boost Signups on Longer Forms
Often, you may need to collect more data than just a
visitor's first name and email address. Yet, adding more
fields to a form usually causes a drop in signup rates. The
way to do both is to have a 2-step signup. In the first
step, you request only a first name and email address. In
the second step, you can ask for any additional data.

6.  Always Place Your Form Above the Fold The form should
always be on the top fold of your web page. This is the
portion of the screen that appears in the average visitor's
browser window without having to scroll down. Make sure the
entire form is visible above the fold and that the submit
button does not fall below the fold on lower resolution
monitors.

7. Embed the Form in Multiple Sections of Your Copy In
addition to placing the form above the fold, be sure to
also place the form at the bottom of the page. It's a good
idea to place the form within several sections of the page
copy.

Now that you have reached the other end of the body, you
will experience a very deep and peaceful feeling of

places that are still tense, spend some extra time focusing
relaxing energy on these parts until the entire body feels
relaxed.  This will prepare you then for the conscious
programming of your inner mind for the prosperity you have

deserve everything that you want. Too often we put doubt in
our minds about our ability to have more.  We tell other

you'd visit, etc.  Have these images somewhere you can look
at them on a regular basis.  See the balance in your bank

3.     Write 3 affirmations about reaching your goal.

For example, "I have everything I want and need and enough
left over to share"  "I deserve the best and I accept it
graciously."  "I am financially comfortable." You may think
of many other positive statements, but do at least three.
Put these in a place where you will see them regularly
during your day (on the refrigerator or a mirror). 4
Express Gratitude to whatever you consider your Higher
Power to be. Know that your success has added energy for
manifestation because of this acknowledgment.

Some examples of these gratitude statements include:
"Thank you, God, for all of this good" "Thank you, Great

Search engines are server side software designed to make it
easier for a user to find things throughout the internet.
Without search engines, many websites would remain secluded
from one another and in many cases information would not be
readily available for users to find and read.

The first tool that made the internet searchable was called
Archie.  Alan Emtage, a student at McGill University,
created this application in 1990 that allowed a searchable
database of file names from the internet. Archie was the
beginning of a large list of search engines with different
features and abilities that allowed the internet to grow to
what it is today.

Such a simple idea changed the internet forever.  As
different people and companies improved Alan's idea of a
searchable internet the internet itself started to evolve.
The internet is slowly becoming the replacement of many
forms of media because it's ability to be connected, up to
date, and best of all free aside from the monthly fee of
the connection.  A whole world of information has combined
before our eyes because the evolution of Alan's idea of
having a searchable platform.

Slowly but surely search engines gained ground on what they
were able to index.  Today many search engines still use
old technology that allows the creator of a web page to
input special keywords and tags within the code of a web
page to allow them to be indexed toward the proper
audience.  The best search engines to date actually index
the information found within the pages content.

Today, there are definitely major titans in the search
engine world.  Each is well funded by their advertising
revenue driven by sponsored ads found within search
results.  Search engines results are now based on
algorithms.  Algorithms are rules set in place to rank
pages within results differently in an attempt to give
users the best experience for their given search.

Search engines also exist that allow you to search specific
types of media such as images, video, news, sports, blogs,
and forums.  Narrowing the media you search from can often
provide more desirable results.  Major search engines don't
always offer these luxuries and finding the information you
need can be very difficult.

The future of search engines is hard to determine.  What we
have seen in the recent years is the abundance of video
media online.  As web space and connection speeds are

back-end full of 50-dollar-applications, but no prospects

lead with the product as well. The product behind the
Reverse Funnel System is GRN (Global Resorts Network), a
Luxury Travel Membership. Many people out there have been
skeptical from the very beginning, as they don't understand
how a website can more or less automatically get the
customer interested, build buying-desire, build trust and
move him towards a buying-decision all at the same time -
and all of this without any real human being ever showing
up anywhere in the process Generally speaking, it can be
stated that there could well be true and genuine
business-opportunities out there, and some negative people
would still call it a scam. There is no ending to this type

remains highly controversial, to say the very least.

It seems like there is only one alternative for peddlers of

copy. But there is a disadvantage to this as well: The
Reverse Funnel System "back-end" provides lead-tracking,
marketing campaigns, auto-responder service and additional
tools. Without proper guidance home-marketers new to this
business will be on their own and have to put all their
hopes in their sponsor (the person how "recruited" them),
hoping that he's not only a leader, but also knows what
he's doing. If he's not competent, chances are, another
new-born internet-entrepreneur will drop out of business
soon. According to statistics 9 out of 10 home start-ups
fail, largely due to ignorance with what it takes to
succeed in the long run. Main reason for this seems to be
misinformation. Whether this happens on purpose or by
accident....that's everybody's guess.

The most devious Myth of all, however, is the make-believe
by many online-"Gurus", that there is such thing as a
system that is fully duplicatable. They are simply not.
This is not to say that all that spread the myth have
necessarily bad intentions, this is to say though, that the
home-business industry is an example of "the blind leading
the blind" par excellence. Due diligence is definitely a
must, after all, according to Entrepreneur Magazine, it is
estimated that a whopping $427 BILLION is generated each
year by home based businesses. That's bigger than General
Motors, Ford, and Chrysler all put together.

Generally you will need to join a program where you can
gift another person to join. Many also require some sort of
membership fee.  Since there are many programs, most of
which typically fail out there, you want to find one with a
great system in place to make sure everyone wins. This
costs money, so expect some sort of fee.

Once you "join" you will then be eligible to receive gifts
from the members you enroll.

How Do I Join a Program?

First, most programs will need you to cash gift someone in
order to enroll. This can be anywhere from $1 to $20,000.
All have their advantages.

You will need an enrollment number, reference, code or
member ID number. A good cash gifting program will be very
strict about this (a side note: NEVER join a program that
will just let you join without a code or reference # Why?
Because that means they do not protect their members! If
they don't protect you, then they can STEAL your
enrollments!) Also, expect to pay a fee to the company or
person(s) that monitors it. (Most programs will require a
monthly fee of  $50.00 or less, which will generate a
member ID number and website for you at the time you
register and will track all your payments as well as all
cash gifts given and received from each individual)

Why Do some Cash Giving Programs Fail?

First of all, they did not have any idea how to properly
set up a cash gifting program. If there is no system in
place to keep track of payments, or no documents created
and used to outline the transfer of cash gifts from one
person to another (that also protect you legally), or no
tested and proven system of marketing and advertising in
place that actually worked, then the system would
ultimately fail.

So WHAT is the Best Program?

One that WORKS! We know that seems obvious, but many do not
work, or they will have you spending THOUSANDS with little
or no results.

Depending on your starting budget, and how quick you need
an income will determine the level of success. The slower
programs can make you nearly just as much for less money
upfront, only at a much slower pace (typically months
compared to weeks).

Should I Borrow Money To Join a Gifting Program?

Believe it or not, most people join gifting programs out of
desperation. One way or another they NEED money, and some
need it quick. Most of these people had to borrow the money
to join. Whether it was a second mortgage, asking friends
drawing from a credit card or taking out a loan. The
advantage to doing this, is you'll most likely take it more
seriously since the money needs to be repaid. As long as
you know the additional costs (the cost to have access to
the website and back office, this is a viable option.

Anyone selling online should consider search engine
marketing (SEM) as a way of generating potential customers
to their website. But what does this unique kind of
marketing involve? In this article, I'll explain a few
search engine basics...

For most Internet users it's virtually second nature to use
a search engine to look for information, products or
services. As expected, when they search on a particular
word or combinations of words, the search engines come up
with a host of results. Each result represents a website
that supposedly has the information, products or services
the Internet user looking for. They can click on the link
and ta-da! the website does or does not give them what they
want.

It's important to note that the search engines don't rank
websites as a whole; they rank specific webpages. In any
case, the higher that your webpages appear in the SERPs,
the more people who are likely to see your description and
click on your link. However, SEM experts tend to vary in
their view on whether it's better to have the top position
in both or either the free and paid results. While most
believe that having the top rank in the free results
attracts the most clicks and traffic; some SEM experts
believe that it's more cost-effective to have the second,
third or lower listing in the paid results. Nevertheless,
most agree that you want your free and/or paid results to
be on the first page.

The two main strands of search marketing are search engine
optimization (SEO) and paid search. Search engine
optimization is about optimizing your website (i.e. each
page on the site) - known as "on-page optimization" - as
well as undertaking a range of "off-page" activities
designed to achieve a high ranking in the SERPs. Getting a
high ranking in the SERPs of a given search engine is a
function of how that search engine's mathematical algorithm
(i.e. for determining rankings) works. Often this takes a
degree of study, trial and error, and hard work.

Alternatively, to achieve a high place in the paid search
results, it's largely a matter of how much you're willing
to pay. Depending on the search engine, you can pay per
click - known literally as pay-per-click (PPC) advertising
- or pay based on the number of impressions or views the ad
receives. Having said that, the priority of your placing
may also be impacted by how effective your ad is, based on
the number of clicks it receives or click through rate
(CTR). Google, in particular, takes the CTR into account,
as well as the bid price per click, when determining the
order of the paid results.

It can be a good idea to dip your toe into search marketing
by starting with paid advertising - particularly PPC. Not
only can you begin promoting your offer to your target
market without delay, but you can also test keywords. You
might decide that particularly high performing keywords
should be incorporated into your webpages for SEO purposes.

One of the income streams in my business comes from
affiliate commissions, or money I make from the referral of
another's products or services. Affiliate commissions are a
very viable way to add another income stream to your
business where you can make a couple of hundred dollars a
month to several thousand dollars a month, depending on how
much time and effort you want to put into the process.

Several years ago I felt guilty for sending others to a
product or service through my affiliate link because I
believed I was manipulating them in some way.  However, now
I have a clearly defined set of rules for myself before I
recommend a product to someone else:

1.  I usually personally own or have used the product

2.  If I don't own it or use it, I rely on many trusted
reviews before deciding to recommend. In most cases, I
don't choose to send someone through an affiliate link if I
don't personally own or use the product.

3.  I have either a verbal or written review/testimonial
about the product.

4.  I am honest about the product's pros and cons.

5.  I can usually tell a story about how the use of this
product/service has impacted the business of one of my
clients or my own business.

6.  When responding to an email inquiry or forum/discussion
list post, I disclose my link is an affiliate link.

Because it's very easy to get caught up in the lure of
affiliate commissions, perpetuated by the constant
bombardment of "opportunities" to promote someone else's
products and services, you must be very discriminating in
the products and services you recommend to your contacts.
All is takes is one or two poor recommendations, and you
begin to lose credibility with your audience. Your email
list will also lose faith in you if you bombard them with
affiliate email promotions. In some cases, I receive more
affiliate promotions than email newsletters or
announcements from some of the lists to which I belong.
Consequently, because of the trust my email list has in me,
I rarely send solo email affiliate promotions to them,
preferring to make affiliate recommendations in my ezine
and on my website.

One problem that affiliate marketers often encounter is
their visitor's aversion to clicking on an affiliate link.
The visitor will remove the affiliate portion of the link
URL instead of crediting you for helping them to find out
about the product or service.  I find this a bit silly now,
as they are paying the same either way, but since I used to
do the same thing (I have to chalk it up to ignorance, I
suppose), I know that it happens frequently. Or, the
visitor will attempt to substitute his affiliate ID in the
URL.  Most reputable businesses now have a clause in their
affiliate agreements prohibiting using your own affiliate
ID to make purchases for yourself.  However, in many cases,
it is still possible.

Here are 4 strategies you can use to "cloak" your affiliate
links.

1.  Use a redirect service. Many affiliate links are long
and cumbersome.  If you use a service like TinyURL.com or
SnipURL.com, you can both shorten the length of the URL as
well as prevent any URL tampering, as the final URL
provided by the redirect service gives the visitor no idea
about the final destination.

2.  Simple website redirect.  You may be able to redirect a
long URL through a page of your site with the commands in
your web hosting control panel or FTP client or through a
3rd party software loaded onto your hosting account.

3.  Dedicated domain name.  This is my favorite strategy.
I buy a domain name that's clearly seen as my brand, and
add a defining word to indicate to me and to my visitors
about the nature of the product, and then use the services
of my domain registrar to forward it to my affiliate link.
So, for example, if you're a professional organizer and are
known under the name "Best Organizer", you might buy
something like BestOrganizerAudio.com, for example, so that
you have an easy-to-remember domain name to which you can
refer when mentioning this audio recording product in
client consultations, teleclasses, and articles.

4. Online Rolodex site.  Create a site or a page containing
all of your valuable recommendations, and purchase a
corresponding domain name to use with it, i.e.
JaneDoeRecommends.com. You can tell your clients that this
site contains your Rolodex of trusted resources or is your
library of trusted resources, and they can refer to the
list any time they are seeking a trusted resource or
referral to help them solve a problem.

Take time to set your parameters for affiliate
recommendations and inform your clients and email list of
those rules. Then, use one of the affiliate cloaking
strategies to make your affiliate marketing as easy and
painless as possible, both for you and your contacts. As
you begin to see your affiliate commissions grow, you'll
wonder why you didn't start this process sooner!

willing to take risks and try new things.  While not
everything is going to work, it is the only way you will be
able to have success for years and years.  However, there

One of the worst things you can do going into a program or
business is not research the market.  In order to know who
you are marketing to and how to reach them, you have to
take the time to do extensive research.  This means posting
in forums and writing on blogs to determine what it is
people are looking for.

In conjunction with not researching the market, waiting to
promote your business or simply not promoting at all will
kill the business.  Advertising and marketing are the keys
to generating traffic to your site.  Once you have traffic
coming you can then convert the traffic into customers.
You should be marketing your business at least one to two
hours every day.

You will find that having your own business or working from
home provides you a tremendous amount of freedom.  However,
you have to be careful not to take advantage of this
freedom.  It is difficult to make money being online if you
are never online.  Avoid the distractions from the home and
get your work done online.

While everything mentioned thus far involves avoiding doing
an action, one thing you do not want to avoid is the
customer.  Customer service should be one of the key facets

questions.  Building relationships with your customers goes
a long way.

Lastly, do not be afraid to ask for help.  While it is your
business, there is nothing wrong with asking for advice or
a little bit of assistance.  If you are having troubles
designing your site, ask for assistance from a graphic
designer.  If you are having troubles writing content or
simply do not have the time, do not be afraid to ask for
help.  Nobody has gotten to where they are on the internet
all by themselves.

In order to make money online, there are several things you
want to be wary of and avoid.  Things like not researching
the market, not having a plan, and not asking for help when
needed can truly ruin your business.  But avoiding these
flaws can help you make money being online and become a
wealthy marketer.

Here's Why Most Fail At Network Marketing, Are You Bound To Fail Too?

Why is it that so many people who get started in an online
home business simply fall by the wayside? It doesn't matter
how you classify it, it could be some variation of internet
marketing, network marketing, MLM, or any other type of
home based business.  No matter how good a program or how
exciting the product, the summary at the end of the day
will look the same.  Two people make good, eight people
quit within 10 days or never get started at all.

Why is that?  Why didn't they follow through with their
plans, while others do?

When I finally learned the answer to this question the
reason for my recent spat of success became apparent as
well.  So what is the answer? Why do most people fail when
a select few succeed?

Can we have a drum roll please?

Those who do succeed have a Core Desire to do so.  Those
who don't share that same Core level of desire will not.

"Desire?"  That's it?  You've probably heard all that
drivel before, am I right?  In fact, if you've been
anywhere near MLM in the last 20 years that is about all
you will hear from your upline.  "You need to have that
"Burning Desire.  Yeah, that's the ticket, yeah, "Just look
for people with desire and you'll do great... Yada Yada
Yada."

Isn't it true that everyone you talk to has the desire to
make more money?  Has it made any difference so far?

And you're right.  You still have eight out of ten of your
downline simply fade away into the shadows.  The difference
is in their level of desire.  Ok, so here is another
overdone axiom.  Overdone or not, that level of desire is
what makes that two out of ten different.

Think about it, the only time anything ever gets done in
your life, when you follow it through to completion with a
sense of urgency, is when you desire to accomplish that
task at a Core Level of 100%.

You must accomplish it. It's a part of you. It consumes
you. It dominates your thoughts above and beyond anything
else each day and all day. These are Core desires, and the
people who achieve notable success in network marketing or
anything really, have that accomplishment as a core desire.
They are the ones you see on stage and hear on the training
calls.

That's it.  That's the secret. If attaining your goal,
whether it be to pay off your credit cards, buy a house,
save for retirement, or fire your boss, is not a core
desire, and not attached to your network marketing
business, you will not succeed.  Period.

Having that desire at 100% on the scale changes a person in
ways other than the single point of accomplishing their
goal.  It changes the way they see themselves, their world,
their life.  A desire like that does not come easily or
even by accident.  Believe it or not you can actually
switch it on.  The caveat to that however, is that it's one
of those huge switches that you generally have to take a
crowbar and get some leverage to flip.  But flipping that
switch can be done.

The sad truth, is that most people in this industry confuse
desire with hope.  Hope allows you to try and fail and then
walk away satisfied. Hope would have you saying to
yourself, "I tried" and you'd be "OK" with that.   Desire
won't settle for that scenario.

And hope is never backed by true desire. Hope is for the
undecided.

The Google AdWords arrive from Google in 2002 as a self
service advertising program for small businesses. It
avoided monthly payments to Google for the Google managed
adwords program, which was not affordable for many
businesses.  Google would otherwise set and manage the
campaigns.  Google still has a program where it manages
campaigns for its clients but the Adwords program is far
more popular today.  Google has made the program so easy to
set up and use, that it is the major revenue generating
sector of the company.

Setting up a Google Adwords account is simple and fast.
You just login to Google Adwords pay about $5.00 and that's
about it for opening up an account.  Then the next thing
you do is set up your campaign.  This involves selecting
your keywords in a way that each keyword relates to your
target audience.  Based on your keywords, you then write
your three line ad and tell searchers where to find your
website.

If this sounds complicated it really isn't.  In fact,
Google helps you do just about everything,including
selecting the keywords.  Google also has a routine that
will estimate the traffic to expect, the bid cost and the
position on the page when your keyword is searched. And
there is more.  Google will optimize your campaign for you
at no additional cost.

While the setup and start of a campaign is fast and easy,
the question now is how good is it?  Here are some metrics
you can look at and evaluate.

 First, you want to know how often your ad is
viewed by someone. Google calls this an Impression. You
will want to know what you a paying for each impression.
This is given in CPMs or cost per impression.

 Then there is the measure called Click Through
Rate or CTR, which is the number of clicks divided by the
number of impressions.  Then

 There is the conversion rate that is the number of
sales divided by the number of clicks.

Google even helps you tie all of this together with what
they call a Quality Score.  This is Google' measure of how
well your ad relates to your web-page and to your website.
However, some of the components of the quality score (QS)
are kept secret however.  If you have a high QS, then
Google gives you a better page position at a lower bid
price.  This way, with a higher quality ad you can obtain a
better search engine position for less money.

Well is all of this really worth it?  Consider this:

 Google gets about 47% of all search engine traffic
and that's about  234 million searches each and every day.

 You can easily design your campaign to target
specific audiences or traffic that you know has an interest
in your product or service or they would not click on your
site.

 You can set a daily budget limit for your
advertising cost.

 Google will help design your ad campaign.

 You are charged only for the clicks that you get
so you are only paying for results.

 The reach can be expanded via use of their content
network.

 Local and regional targeting are also available.
You can set your ads to appear only to people searching in
a particular state, city, or region. Now it's easy to
target online customers within, say, 25 miles of your front
door.

Google Adwords is a very powerful advertising program but
will it guarantee you will make a profit?

Of course not, but profitability is a challenge with almost
any business whether brick and mortar or online.

So lets take a look at some ways you can segment your list

Now, this subject of list segmentation is very wide and
exhaustive. So today we'll only hit some highlights. But
it'll give you a great start with your own list. You can
segment your list according to how long your subscribers
have been with you. There's some flexibility with this. So
you can try something like dividing into the 4 annual
quarterly periods.

Your newest subscribers can be golden when treated properly
because they're prime for being converted into paying
customers. They're fresh and looking forward to your ezine
or email course. You can make special offers to this group
as an introductory marketing campaign. The special offers
should be designed to be as attractive as possible.
Designed to entice, intrigue, and excite.

Once converted into paying customers, then you'll segment
them accordingly and move on.

Every list has a group that has never bought anything...
yet. But do NOT give up on them. They're still valuable
because you can do something that smart marketers always
do. TEST!

That's right. You can send them offers with different price
points, marketing messages, etc. Use your business and
marketing creativity! Try making them a very low-cost
offer. For example... many of you may have seen reports
selling for the magical $7 price point. Or...

You can be more direct with them and ask them if they're
happy with your ezine. Solicit some feedback from them. Ask
them if they want to remain on your list! Think of a good
way to engage them in some way. Why not? You just may
convert some into buying customers. Then move them into
their own special group.

Now lets talk about, frequency... How often has someone on
your list made a purchase. Look for those who have made
more than one purchase. Ideally, you have a good number of
them. Then you can divide them into specific number of
times they've bought. This is where it gets exciting! If
you have such a segment within your list, then you can
design special higher-priced offers to them. But make darn
sure these offers are high quality and the higher price is
fully justified.

The people in this segment have proven their loyalty. They
have shown that they like the products and service they've
been getting from you. So this group contains your very
best prospects for higher priced offers.

And your conversions for these special offers will reflect
the quality of customers in this group.

The third area concerns how much your customers spend with
you. So you'll segment your list according to price point.
And hopefully you'll already have had some bigger ticket
sales. If so, here's what you can do...

Look for your highest price point customers. Then create a
special group and these will be your premium subscribers.
You have a lot of flexibility with this group because you
can design excellent offers exclusively for them. For
example...

You can create an exclusive... and pricey... membership
service for them. It's the best form of subscription-based
service for obvious reasons. If done smartly and creatively
you can really boost your profit levels with a group like
this!

So! Have you ever tried looking at your list in this
manner? If not, you're losing out big time! It's a very
simple way to dramatically increase your list marketing
conversions. There's always more to the story, though. But

plans there were for a program until I started
investigating selling big ticket items. Coming from more of
an affiliate marketing and network marketing point of view
I had never heard of pass up plans.

Sometimes they are called 1 Up, or 2 Up, and so on. So what
are pass up pay plans and how do they work.

With a pass up pay plan you pass up a set number of sales
to your sponsor before you start keeping the money for
yourself. Your sponsor has already passed up the required
number so he makes his money now on you plus any of his own
sales.

With a 2 Up this type of pay plan basically means that you
will join a business opportunity that has a payment plan
where you will make your first two sales but you won't get
the money for them. Your first two commissions will go to
the sponsor that is above you. Then you will start making
commissions on your third sale and all of the others after
that.

There are a couple of benefits to the pass up pay plan. The
first benefit is that it is designed to get sponsors
involved in their team's efforts. The more help they
provide the people under them the more money everyone will
make. So if they want to get those first two commissions
they will need to teach them how to make the sales.

Another benefit is that once you know how to make the sales
and you are earning your own commissions, you will now be
the one that will make the first two sales on anyone that

One of the negatives to the pass up pay plan is that not

When do they issue commission checks? Every program is

What is the hit per sale ratio? This is the average number
of hits to a banner or text link it takes to generate a

traffic you must generate before you can earn a commission
from the sale.

How are referrals from an affiliate's site tracked and for
how long do they remain in the system? You need to be
confident on the program enough to track those people you
refer from your site. This is the only way that you can
credit for a sale.

The period of time that those people stay in the system is
also important. This is because some visitors do not buy
initially but may want to return later to make the
purchase. Know if you will still get credit for the sale if
it is done some months from a certain day.

What kind and type of affiliate stats available? Your
choice of affiliate programs should be capable of offering
detailed stats. They should be available online anytime you
decide to check them out.

Constantly checking your individual stats is important. To
know how many impressions, hits and sales are generated
from your site is critical data. Impressions are the number
of times the banner or text link was viewed by a visitor of
your site. A hit is the one clicking on the banner or text
links.

Does the affiliate program also pay for hits and
impressions besides the commissions on sales? It is
important that impressions and hits are also paid, as this
will add to the earnings you get from the sales commission.
This is especially important if the program you are in
offers low sales to be able to hit ratio.

Who is the online retailer? Find out whom you are doing
business with to know if it is really a solid company. Know
the products they are selling and the average amount they
are achieving. The more you know about the retailer
offering you the affiliate program, the easier it will be
for you to know if that program is really for you and your
site.

Is the affiliate a one tier or two tier program? A single
tier program pays you only for the business you yourself
have generated. A two tier program pays you for the
business, plus it also pays you a commission on the on the
sales generated by any affiliate you sponsor in your
program. Some two-tier programs are even paying small fees
on each new affiliate you sponsor. More like a recruitment
fee.

Lastly, what is the amount of commission paid? 5% - 20% is
the commission paid by most programs. .01% - .05% is the
amount paid for each hit. If you find a program that also
pays for impressions, the amount paid is not much at all.
As you can see from the figures, you will now understand
why the average sales amount and hit to sale ratio is
important.

clarified before making the important program selection

materials are provided by the company such as brochures,
sales letters, websites, recruiting calls and the list goes
on.  These should all be persuasive and provide plenty of
testimonials.

The product the company is touting should be unique and
manufactured by the company itself.  You either want the
product to be consumable or the service one that is needed
monthly.  In this way, you get a recurring purchase each
month.

With Network Marketing, you will be building a residual
income that keeps coming no matter what you do and no
matter if you work or not.  This is not like direct
marketing when you are just making a one-time sale.  You
should go with a company that has been in business for at
least five years and it should be debt free.

After having done all of your research and you decide to
run with this company, then you present the business
opportunity and the product to as many people as possible.
Of course, they all tell you to start with your warm market
first, that is, family, friends, co-workers, etc.  You can
then buy leads or email lists of people that are interested

names running on it start with https rather than http. To

company should be able to do this for you. You can purchase
a low cost secure server certificate from Free SSL.

A secure server requires a little bit more of an
explanation. A secure server runs on a technology called
SSL. Basically SSL is a protocol that encrypts any

The ultimate goal of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is to
drive traffic to your site. Many people don't know why, but
they aren't achieving this goal.

The key is staying current and evolving with the times.

Way back in the good old days, SEO was a lot easier and we
saw results quickly. What do I mean "we saw results"? We
ran a ranking report and we were able to see what words
held what positions in the various engines. And admit it
now, when you received your ranking reports, you promptly
pulled up Google or Yahoo and did a search, waiting with
baited breath to see your results right there in the top
20. Ahhh, the good old days.

Now, you get a ranking report and you don't see all those
wonderful rankings you have seen in the past. Competition
