Find Legitimate Online Home Business Opportunities

Back when I first got onto the internet, I was interested
in a way to make money Online working from home. I would
see the ads for business opportunities and feel a sense of
excitement while reading about the wads of money people are
making.

Needless to say, I had a long way to go before my good
sense would lead me to a path which is acceptable and does
not waste my precious time.

A major factor I take into consideration today is to not
get involved in projects that waste time. I am still guilty
of this but not so much. I use the JCB formula. Just Cut
Back on activities which produce little or no results. I do
this by testing and monitoring.

I am stubborn by nature so it has been difficult for me to
follow the successful paths laid down by others. I would
read good articles and discussion posts but because I was
so new to the business, did not know the difference between
information which had value and information with little or
no value.

Imagine this. I join an affiliate program and get my very
first affiliate URL. You know, the long URL which sticks
out like I-don't-know-what?

Anyway, I thought that if I advertise my very long URL in
print media and on free classified ad sites that I would
need a wheelbarrow to pick up the affiliate checks from my
mail box.

It did not take me long to realize that the majority people
hanging around classified ad sites were and still are the
ad posters. Imagine that, I thought that people are
actually spending their time browsing free classified ad
sites. What a waste of time.

It seems that lack of patience contributes to the decision
making process. It is a form of insanity. I wanted to get
rich a week from next Tuesday jumping from one deal to
another like an mlm junkie jumps from one mlm to another.

My lack of wisdom also lead me to the deals with no value.
My lack of wisdom also sabotaged the good deals that came
my way.

I was too tight to get my own domain name. I was too mean
when it came to buying a good ebook or subscribing to a
subscription only website. I was wasting time looking
around for so called free web hosting. Little did I realize
that it cost me more time, money and frustration to try and
do it all for free.

By the time I found any information which was good, every
man and his dog knew about it. What's the point of that. On
the Internet, things move quickly. Time is a premium. So
today, I like to get my hands on the freshest information
and software.

Today, I treat my websites like a business. Imagine trying
to go into business without spending any money. You don't
necessarily need a lot of money to start with, in fact the
costs involved are insignificant compared to the generated
income. The turning point for me was realizing that to be
successful, I must plan and budget in order to reach my
goals.

I allocated ten percent of my job income to inject into my
Internet activities and things have never been the same.
Today my Internet Income pays for all my Internet expenses
and makes a very nice profit while I am asleep in bed.

I do not hesitate when it comes to buying an ebook or
joining a members-only website. I get the freshest
information available on the internet because I treat it
seriously.

- No more joining affiliate programs before I know how to
get traffic to a site
- No more operating without my own domain name and web site
- No more being tight when it comes to buying a good book
or course.

There is a lot of money making information on the Internet.
The trick for me has been to participate in what suits my
personality. I do not let the greed factor decide what
activities are acceptable on the Internet. At the end of
the day, a clear conscience makes a soft pillow.

Have you ever found that time seems to stand still
sometimes, especially when you're waiting for a result or
outcome, or someone to get back to you? You look at your
watch and the hands haven't moved!

Then, on other occasions you've become so involved in
something that hours have flown by without you realising?

Well, many times I've written a sales letter or email,
posted it and then just sat by the computer waiting for
results. Now, some of the big gurus sometimes say that they
do this and within 30 seconds, 'ping' an order appears,
then another and so on, but what some of them don't tell
you is that they've built up that mailing list over two
years and it's 50,000 strong!

Yes, it is rewarding when that happens, but what I've found
to be the best strategy is let something 'cook' for a
while. Rather than waste time anxiously waiting for
results, just do the best you can then leave it, go and do
something completely different, some sport or spend time
with your family. Then, when you come back you may find
that you log on just to check your email for something else
and 'ping' you get a result! It seems that these things
happen when you least expect it and the more you relax, the
better the results.

People are always amazed at the speed at which I produce
these articles, yet what I do is not to worry about getting
them done, and 'ping' they appear!

The amazing thing about the internet is that once you let
something go, it takes on a life of its own, other people
see your message but don't act upon it immediately or they
pass it on to a friend, by that time a month has gone by, I
still get orders for products that I advertised months ago.

What this also means is that you need to keep the faith,
believe that what you are doing is worthwhile but don't
expect immediate results. Just imagine that thousands of
people are going to know about you, so with that in mind,
put 110% into your project because someone may find out
about it in 6 months' time.

That really is what is meant by the expression 'make money
while you sleep' Initially it's just that delay so it
appears that you haven't done anything, but then if you
have affiliates signed up under you or you're involved in
recurring-billing programs then as things grow, they grown
of their own accord.

Just do as much as you can each day with the resources you
have, then do something else and have faith.

Top 3 Google Linking Strategies of 2008

If you're serious about getting great ranking on Google you
need to be serious about linking. Of course there are lots
of ways to get links so we'll focus on just the methods
that are fast, low cost or free and get the best results.
Here are three that can put you on top of Google in no time
flat!

First let's start with getting inbound links from
directories. A link from a directory gets a lot of weight
from Google because they value it as a form of endorsement.
You've probably used some directories yourself, like Yahoo.
Or maybe you've used some without even knowing it, like The
Open Directory Project (DMOZ.org) that powers many of the
most popular search engines, including Google!

Each directory is different and offers different options
for obtaining links to your site. Here's a rundown of how
different directories will link to your site...

1.) Free Submission: Just like it sounds. No charges for
inclusion. DMOZ.org is the best one and powers Google, AOL
and even Yahoo Search (not Yahoo directory.) Just be sure
to follow their submission guidelines and pick the most
appropriate sub category possible for inclusion. This is
extremely important.

2.) Paid Submissions: They charge a fee to review the
submitted link and possibly list the page. You might pay a
few dollars one time, a recurring annual fee or as much as
the $300 that Yahoo charges for commercial site review.

3.) Reciprocal Link: These usually require you to link to
the directory before they will even consider linking back.

4.) Featured Link: Your link gets a premium spot that you
pay for.

5.) Featured Homepage Link: This is a featured link on the
homepage. As you've probably guessed, this can get real
expensive.

Yahoo is easily the most popular (and most expensive) but
it's not the best. It's been my experience that a free
listing with DMOZ.org is worth more than a paid listing
with Yahoo. Even though Yahoo is more popular as a
directory that people actually visit, DMOZ is much more
popular with search engines and carries a lot of weight. A
"vote" from DMOZ is a big deal indeed.

Here are the five top directories offering free listings.
Some even offer inexpensive expedited listing services or
featured listings:

1.) dmoz.com

2.) directoryvault.com

3.) domaining.in

4.) getlistedrightnow.com

5.) visitalink.com

There's a site that keeps an updated list of directories,
but not all are free. You have to visit each to see if
there is any cost. Go to
http://www.topwebsitetips.com/FreeLinks-Directories.aspx
and scroll down to the drop down box at the bottom of the
page. Select your desired Google PR and search. If you want
to avoid getting niche directories in the results, check
the "General Directories Only" box after your first return
set and rerun the search.

As a second option, you can also consider paying a
submission service to get your site listed in the major
directories. There are plenty that will do it for a
reasonable fee. Just be sure they do the following three
things:

1.) Manual submission only

2.) Verify that your site is not already listed

3.) Provide proof of submission (usually screen captures)

Just search Google for "directory submission service" and
you'll get plenty of options. I've used
http://www.seonext.com/directory-submission.html in the
past with good success. They offer a "slow submission"
service that makes your link building appear more natural
to Google and other top search engines.

And finally, there is no better way to get quality links
than from a traditional reciprocal link campaign. This can
be a time consuming step without automated software, but is
very important.

Here are 10 steps to a successful reciprocal linking
campaign:

1.) List the keywords you want to be found for.

2.) Draft a standard letter you can use to easily customize
for each site (customization tips at the end.)

3.) Run a search on Google for each keyword and jot down
the URL for each match returned (not just the homepage but
the URL for the actual page you want the link from, which
is the one that came up in the search.)

4.) Remove any direct competitors from the list.

5.) Go back through your list and find the contact info for
each site. Record this information.

6.) Create a link to each page you want to get a link from.
This should be from the most appropriate page on your site,
not the homepage. Do not exceed 10 outbound links per page
at most. The fewer, the better.

7.) Send the customized email with the considerations
outlined below.

8.) Verify their backlinks.

9.) Remove any outbound links that do not reciprocate
within a month or so.

10.) Check your inbound links every couple of weeks. Make
sure you are still getting the links you earned and that
the people linking to you have not moved you to a less
desirable page.

Reciprocal Link Email Tips:

A.) Address the email to a person by name if possible.

B.) Start with a complimentary statement about what you
like on their site.

C.) Introduce yourself and your site.

D.) Lead into why you feel your site is a good, non
competing match (list benefits for them and their visitors.)

E.) Mention that you have already linked to their site and
hope they feel a reciprocal link will be beneficial.
Provide the URL to the page you linked from.

F.) Explain why you linked from the page you did and the
anchor text you used to show you understand link strategy.

G.) Request that if they link back they use one of your
anchor text suggestions along with the exact URL you want
them to link to.

H.) Offer to change the link anchor text of their URL if
they wish.

I.) Thank them genuinely for the time and sign with your
first name to make it more personal and natural.

You can do all of this manually or invest in a good piece
of software to do the difficult and time consuming work for

Teleseminars: A Quick Way to Cash

If you're reading this ezine, it's likely that you've
participated in a teleseminar, whether it be mine or one of
my colleagues. You've probably been on some that have been
very good, where you got tons of really valuable
information. And you may have found yourself on a few that
were nothing but pitch-fests for the host's lastest product.

But I want to share something with you. Hosting
content-rich teleseminars for my target market is some of
the quickest and easiest mo^ney I've generated in my
business.

Holding F.R.E.E. introductory teleseminars are a great way
to promote your business, increase your email subscriber
list, make more sales on your products, and enable your
potential clients another way to connect with you. By being
on the phone with you, they get to know you through your
voice, adding the human touch that can be so hard to
cultivate online.

I offer a f.r.e.e. monthly teleseminar that gives people an
introduction to what I teach. From each of these calls, I
get more ezine subscribers, more members for my group
coaching membership, and more sales of my products.

Holding PAID teleseminars helps to promote your business
and generate revenues as well. I do one paid teleseminar at
least every two months on a different marketing topic, and
I gross a minimum of $2000 for each of these calls.

Another way to offer teleseminars is to do "intensive" or
"bootcamp" series of multi-week teleseminars. I've offered
10- and 4-week '"workgroups" on the topics of listbuilding,

2. A Bridge Line

There are several good no-cost bridge lines available for
you to use, but the one I'm currently recommending is
FreeConferenceCall.com because you can record the
teleseminar for free as well. This is a nice benefit to
offer your participants and to anyone who had to miss your
teleseminar for any reason. I use it as a back-up recording
for all my calls. You can have up to 100 people on the line
with you.

3. Recording Service

You'll need a way to record your teleseminars so you can
provide the audio for people to listen to later and for you
to make CDs from if you decide to package your teleseminar
into a physical product later. I use AudioAcrobat to record
all my teleseminars, with FreeConferenceCall.com as a
back-up.

4. Automatic Registration

You'll want to be able to have people sign up for your
teleseminar without you having to do a lot of work. I use
Aweber for all my teleseminar registrations, but you can
also use your shopping cart's autoresponder service if you
have one.

I'd like to invite you to start offering f.r.e.e.
teleseminars to promote your business, and once you get
more comfortable with both the format and the technology,
start offering paid teleseminars. Even if you only have a
handful of people on your first call, it's great practice.
And I guarantee your numbers will increase as you continue
to build your email list, and you'll be profiting from
teleseminars in no time.

Who's ever heard of a dentist charging up to 50k for
treatment? ... and, has a line of people who he has to turn
away?

It begs the question -- Are all dentists, the same? Well,
the technical skills may not be to dissimilar.

I know that there'll probably be dentists reading this
saying " I went to the blah blah school of dentistry, so
I'm really more 'professional' and have more 'expertise'".
(Just plug in the equivalent of what it is you do, sell,
etc)

Now, let's flip over to our 'super dentist'. What makes him
charge the fees that he does? What gives him the gall to
set the prices that he does?

Well, the first, and most important ingredient in the
formula is that... HE VALUES ENORMOUSLY, THE SERVICE THAT
HE DOES FOR HIS CLIENTS.

As soon as a person just 'gets' that mental shift, huge
things happen. It may sound a little metaphysical to some,
a little bit of magic wand 'woo woo', but, small mental
shifts can get the biggest doors to swing open, at an
accelerated pace.

The next BIG MENTAL SHIFT in setting the prices that he
does is the principle ... " BECAUSE THAT'S THE PRICES WHAT
I WANT".

A vital note here is that the dentist didn't look at what
other dentists were charging. He didn't say let me go down
the middle and price my services that way.

Set your prices to match EXACTLY what you want your
lifestyle to look like.

And that's what our Dentist did.

He then went to work to match his image to fit into his
clients and prospects perception of what he does.

His practice looks like no other. His non-dental 'service'
builds enormous value in the mind of the prospect. His
referral system has people lining up to be treated by him.

And... his marketing is super. Most prospects are already
pre-sold before they come for treatment. Now isn't that
refreshing? Isn't that liberating.

Everything he does is not based on guesswork, conjecture,
or Disneyland thinking. It's based on a predictable,
reliable and systematic formula.

He has created the practice HE WANTS and treats his clients
the way they want to be treated.

So, the question becomes...

What prices are you deliberately NOT SETTING that'll get
you a bunch of highly qualified prospects for what it is
you do?

You see, setting a higher price for your product or
service, gets you a higher grade of client. People want
'snob value'. They want what the 'JONES'S' can't get.

And, the most important element in this is... CLIENT
COMPLIANCE!

What that means is there is more people who value what is
you do, and, they are in a better position to 'DO AS YOU
SAY'.

Of course, setting higher prices isn't suitable for every
product or service, but, EVERY product or service has the
ability to leverage it into other HIGH price products or
services.

For example: if you sell an ebook for  27.00 all to do
with how to make costume jewellery. Now, a natural
extension to this is to create a 12 monthly-paid newsletter.

What'll that give you? Yes, that's right - CONTINUITY
INCOME... forever, if you play your cards right. Now
doesn't that taste delicious?

What about a one-off seminar teaching people how to market
their newfound skill?

And then, what if you audio tape and film that seminar and
turn them into high priced saleable products?

Are you beginning to see the picture here? Aren't the
possibilities... endless?

Would you rather settle for one ebook sale, or have a
warehouse of products and services directly out of that
ebook, and make more money than you ever imagined possible,
from the same client?

In the past 10 years, more people have become millionaires
using Network Marketing than from any other occupation or
profession.

One of the most exciting aspects of network marketing is
how you can potentially gain a large network from
sponsoring a few people personally, with them in turn doing
the same thing, with the pattern repeating.

If it took 30 days for this pattern to duplicate (each
person sponsoring 2 others in their first 30 days), then
you will have gained a downline of over 8,000 men/women in
just one year. It is this potential of geometric growth
that gets people excited about Network Marketing. Just
think, if you were making $2.00 per person, then in one
year you would be making $16,000 per month ! Sounds great,
doesn't it ? It also sounds too good to be true. The
problem is............ It is too good to be true!

Despite the success stories, MLM has had more than its fair
share of problems and failures. Many people who have tried
it, have actually lost money, or failed to make enough
money to make it worth their while to continue their
efforts. Here are the facts that so many MLM promoters fail
to acknowledge or tell you:

Typically, 60% to 80% of the people who join, sponsor less
than 2 men/women each, in their first 30 days. Therefore,
the geometric progression never really occurs in this
manner.

The other factor is that most of the people that join a MLM
business quit and the majority of them do so within a few
months after joining.

Why do people quit?

1. They aren't making any money because they are unable to
sponsor enough people or gain enough customers to become
profitable.
2. Because the products cost too much they aren't saving
any money either.
3. It's too much of a hassle being involved, for the little
money that they may be making.
4. Any of the above combined with the fact that they are
actually losing money each month because of money spent on
product quotas, marketing materials, motivational tapes,
rallies, seminars and long distance functions requiring
travel, meal, lodging and ticket costs.
5. They lose hope that they can ever have the benefit of
the development of a big network.


What are the causes of these problems and failures? Can
they be eliminated? Is it possible that the leverage
created by Network Marketing could benefit everyone and not
just a few?

Sorry, MLM will only benefit a few. The entire program must
be different. It can't be based on a few hyped products or
"get rich quick" claims. It may not have MLM markup. It
must be based however on logic and common sense.

Some logic tips a program with common sense must have :

- The program must include a trainings program to help
people grow in their business.
- The less it cost to join, the easier it is to sponsor new
people.
- Being able to quickly gain a positive cash flow.
- The faster your network grows, the more motivated you are
to refer new people. A program build on a team effort
provides real support to get your network started and
develop.
- Attractively priced goods to be sold.
- Once you see your income grow, you want to do more.
There's no need to buy motivational tapes each week or go
to an endless amount of weekend functions.
- The program must have a plan to let your network continue
to grow.
- The program must enable you to develop a self sustaining
income as your network develops.

Let's get one thing out in the open.  Nobody likes to be
sold.

So what should you do if no one likes to be sold?  Try
asking your prospect if they mind if you ask them a couple
of questions. This is to see if it's a good idea that you
do business today. Why?  Because it opens the door to a
conversation about their needs, and everyone loves to talk
about themselves, it's their favorite subject!

In direct sales, this part would be easy because you are
probably meeting face-to-face or at least over a telephone
conference call. But what if you are meeting through the
Internet? You could set up a 'chat' time and ask questions
and get answers that way, or, you could set up an on-line
forum where people leave comments and feedback about their
experiences with your product or services. This will open a
dialog with the customer and then you will be able to read
their 'wants' if not ask for them.

With multi level marketing, some companies have the system
already set up for you and you just join as an affiliate
and make money off the last person to join and then the
person who joins after you will make money off your sales
and so on and so on.

If they give you a website or you have a website and you
can write, write articles and post them to your website.
Post them to other peoples website, there are several
Internet sites where you can post articles for free and if
you've used the correct keyword density, you will increase
your WebPages rankings in the search engines and that is
what online marketing systems are all about, getting better
rankings on the search engines.

Join a number or newsletters and groups that pertain to
your products or services and if they allow posting of
messages, use that to announce such things as new products
you are selling ' however, never, ever spam ' use the
messages to announce a new article you've written that will
help people solve a marketing problem that you have tried
yourself.

As a marketer, you must make it your priority to obtain a
high ranking on the major search engines such as MSN,
Google and Yahoo. Learn as much as you can about search
engine optimizer or SEO and then try to increase your
ranking on a weekly basis.

You need to spend 75 percent of your time on marketing your
affiliate programs and 25 percent of your time on working
on them. The majority of people only spend about 10 to 20
percent of their time on promoting and marketing their
affiliate programs and this is where they are loosing
money. Affiliate programs will make you money if you put in
the time and work hard at it.

There has always been a sort of negative connotation
regarding affiliate marketing and multi level marketers
because people want to buy from the original seller, not
some affiliate. And this makes no sense because when you
set up your website and the visitor clicks on the website
of the person you are selling for, they go directly to
their website. The only indication you are an affiliate is
that you have their web address on your website.

5 Tips For Enforceable Membership, Subscription And SaaS Agreements

I work with website designers a lot -- making sure that the
Customer Agreements of my clients are presented as part of
the registration process in a way that's legally
enforceable.

One of the key components of your basic website legal
compliance documents is your Customer Agreement (which may
have many different names such as Membership Agreement,
Subscription Agreement, Terms of Sale, Content License
Agreement, etc.).

Some of my clients think that their Customer Agreement will
be enforceable solely because of legal mumbo jumbo I put in
it. Not true! Proper presentation during your registration
process is also a key to enforceability. If the agreement
is not presented properly, it will not be enforceable.

And as I point out to my ecommerce clients and their
website designers... if your Customer Agreement is not
enforceable, then all of your carefully worded disclaimers
and limitations of liability will be ineffective. The
result -- you would be exposed to substantial liability.

Specht v. Netscape Comms. Corp

A good example of a click-wrapped agreement that was
presented improperly can be found in the case of Specht v.
Netscape Comms. Corp., 150 F. Supp. 2d 585 (S.D.N.Y. 2001),
aff'd. 306 F.3d 17 (2nd Cir. 2002).

In the Specht case, Netscape's website developer designed
its download page for Netscape's SmartDownload software
with little regard for contract enforceability.

Netscape's download page provided a download button which
downloaded the SmartDownload software. The only reference
to a license agreement required the user to scroll to the
bottom of the same web page which provided a link to the
license agreement. Clicking on this link directed the user
to another page which stated that use of the software was
governed by a license agreement that required still another
click before the user could read the contract terms.

The 2nd Circuit ruled that Netscape's agreement was
unenforceable because of 3 deficiencies:

*  the user did not have to click on an "ACCEPT" or "I
AGREE" button to indicate assent;   *  the text on the web
page accompanying the download did not clearly state that
agreement was a pre-condition to use;   *  the failure to
provide "reasonable notice" of the existence of contract
terms.

Lessons Learned From The Specht Case

Lessons learned from the Specht case involve 2 basic
methods of successfully incorporating your Customer
Agreement into your website - the full page method and the
scroll box method.

The full page method is the most conservative method. This
method requires the placement of the "I AGREE" button at
the bottom of the page containing the contract terms
(thereby requiring the user to at least scroll to the
bottom of the page to click).

The scroll box method requires the placement of the "I
AGREE" button on or in close proximity to a scroll box
containing the scrollable contract terms coupled with
visible explanatory text providing notice of the contract
terms.

Most website designers prefer the scroll box method because
it uses less space. If you use the scroll box method, this
is a summary of the 5 tips for enforceability:

1.  conspicuous presentation during registration process -
the scroll box with the agreement should be presented
conspicuously during the registration process;

2.   reasonable notice of the existence of contract terms -
this is the purpose of the text that is in all caps at the
very top of the agreement (ABC COMPANY IS WILLING TO GRANT
YOU RIGHTS TO ESTABLISH AND USE AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS SITE
...);

3.   unambiguous manifestation of assent - this is the
purpose of the ACCEPT button - place both the ACCEPT and
the DECLINE buttons on the scroll box just under the
scrollable window - set the default to DECLINE - make sure
that registration cannot be completed unless the ACCEPT
button is clicked;

4.   opportunity to review contract terms - the scrollable
window should show some of the text of the agreement below
the notice section without the requirement of scrolling to
see it - the text should be in a legible font, clear, and
readable - the scroll box should permit the user to review
the contract terms easily at the user's own pace, and the
user should be able to navigate up and down through the
entire text of the agreement in the scroll box; and

5.   opportunity to print agreement - the scroll box
presentation should clearly indicate an opportunity to
print the agreement.

Conclusion

Enforceable Customer Agreements are critical to controlling
your online business... and with it, your exposure to
liability. Although part of the issue of enforceability is
determined by what your Customer Agreement actually says...
a significant part is determined by how it's presented. So,
be sure to monitor how your website designer incorporates
your agreement into your site, and make sure it's done
right.

When starting out with an on line business there is one
thing your going to need, web advertising.  In your search
you'll find many places that promise you the world, but
beware.  You have to be smart.  The majority of sites that
will offer you search engine placement accompanied with a
lot of exposure for you site are simply a waste of your
time and money.

Below are a few tips and key indicators to look out for on
your journey for exposure and traffic to your on line
business via web advertisng.

First, do not waste your precious time and money with
anyone/site that promises to send an ad out for your site
to millions of people for a low fee.  These scams have been
around since the advent of the Internet.  I mean, if you
like throwing your money away then by all means, go for it.
 If not, keep that money in your pocket.

Second, for the most part, stay away from companies that
offer to place your site in a multitude of search engines.
There are some really great tools out there that you can
use to do this yourself until you get an idea of what is
needed and how effective search engine submission should
be.  In all honesty, time is the best way to solve this
problem.  As long as your site provides quality content the
search engines will find you, for free.

Third, it is a good idea to invest your time and money in
writing articles.  This is a time tested way to drive
traffic to your site, increase the number of incoming links
from other related sites on the net, get your site listed
in many search engines and boost your rankings in the
search engines once your in.  You can either write the
articles yourself or have someone do it for you for
anywhere from $5 to $15 an article.  It depends on your
particular budget and preferences.

Fourth, invest your time and money in solo ads or ezine
ads.  With ezine ads, you can place a small ad in a
companies ezine that is relevant to your market for a small
fee and usually receive great results.  You do need to know
how to write an effective ad and then convert the traffic
once it's on your site, but that's for another article.

Finally, do your research.  If you feel you have found a
good site to advertise on, do a little research about that
particular site.  See what other people are saying, their
individual success stories and so forth.  Try going to
advertising forums and ask around about the site in
question or go to yahoo answers and post a question.  You
will be surprised at how many people will be willing to
help out.

In the beginning, try to find the best places to advertise
on line can be a nightmare.  There is so much research
involved and it can be very daunting.  You also need to
know how to convert that traffic once it's on your site.
Just be skeptical when your first starting out and do your
research.  Many times you'll save yourself a lot of time in
money just asking others about their experience with a
certain site.

Without a doubt, selling info products is one of the best
ways to make money online... especially when selling
downloadable products.  After the product is created, you
can sell it over and again, with very little cost.  This

But does size matter?  How big does the info product have
to be?  I'm going to answer these important questions, and
show you how you can get started selling your own info

Here's a little background...

When I first started making a living online I created my
own ebooks.  I saw others making money selling these
downloadable information products and wanted to get in on
the profits.  And I'm glad I did because I still make a lot
of money from my first ebook.

But...

It took me about 3 months to write this 289 page ebook.  It
was my first ebook, and the going was slow.  Plus, the size
of the project was large.  So, I spent 3 months of hard

So, when I decided to dedicate myself to teaching others
how to make an income online, I started to focus on small
reports.  Since the report is small, it focuses on a
SPECIFIC topic for a specific market.  There is no fluff
and filler, and it gets to the point fast.  And the
customer can get through it fast and start putting the
ideas into practice very quickly.

And here's the best part...

Instead of spending 3-4 months creating the info product to
sell, a valuable, high-quality small report can be done in
a week (or less).  This means you don't have to spend
months on the hopes of making money in the distant future.

Because so many people come online wondering how to make
money doing online surveys, I thought I would write an
article about it. I'm not going to list any specific
companies by name, but will give you a few ideas on how you
can get started if that's what you want to do.

The paid survey industry has gotten a bad rap in recent
years, in my opinion. I say that from experience, because I
have actually done paid surveys and gotten paid for those.
I think the key is in how you approach it.

For years now there's been several interviews online with a
gal named Deborah Kesey. She's a real person that has made
money for over 30 years doing surveys and participating in
consumer opinion groups. It seems to me that finding other
people who have really made money has been like documenting
a Bigfoot sighting.

What I did was I started going into discussion forums and
found several that contained the threads specifically aimed
at paid surveys. I was amazed at the number of people who
are making several hundred dollars a month, and one gal
even claim to have made $1400 in December of 2007.

I personally accessed a couple of companies to get their
database of survey companies I could work for. Today thanks
to the Internet this is very easy to do and you will have
no end to the amount of work you can participate in if you
choose to.

There are surveys that pay anywhere from $.25, to $10 and
up. There are discussion groups you can participate in and
earn even larger sums of money such as $30 or $50 or more.

Another way that I found to make money is to actually sell
leads to the survey companies. I feel good about this
because it is possible to refer people and help them get
started making money completing paid surveys online without
paying for a list.

This kind of goes back to the old philosophy of whether you
are an actual worker or want to make your money selling the
tools. It really comes back to your personality, but it is
possible to make money doing online surveys both ways.

If you have any doubt whether you're being taken advantage

survey companies. I'm not saying that all of these are
legitimate, but that in fact they are listed on this

When working from home means saying no, the odds are good
that you have already begun running the gauntlet comprised
of friends and family members who seem to ask you for
favors on a near daily basis. While it is not a pleasant
activity, it is required if you wish to run your business,
make money, and at the same time keep a modicum of sanity.
For all those who might be somewhat challenged in the
assertiveness department, here are some tips and tricks
that make saying no easier:

* Identify the most regular offenders. The occasional call
from the spouse who might wonder if you could stop by the
store to pick up some soda or the call from the friend who
is having an existential crisis and needs someone to talk
to should be considered the price of admission to the human
race and thus should not necessitate the use of the word
no. On the other hand, the spouse who does not seem to
understand that the reason why you so consistently have to
be up and working until the wee hours of the night is
directly related to her or his filling your workday with
chores and tasks will require a more serious talking to and
also the use of the word no.

* Individuals who are blatantly taking advantage of your
being home will also be the ones who will act the most
offended when you say no. To avoid these confrontations it
will be wise to install a second telephone line for the
business ' an expense you can write off from your taxes '
and not give out the number unless it is a bona fide
business contact. Not answering the main line or screening
the calls will go a long way of saying no without actually
having to use the word itself.

* The notion of being home also being equated with being
available needs to be nipped in the bud and it will require
you to not volunteer for things during the day in the first
place. While the teacher may implore parents to volunteer
their time during the school day to help with grading and
the cutting out of craft projects, unless you have a lot of
disposable time in the pursuit of your business success,
failure to keep that boundary intact will see you as a
frequent target for request for help and assistance and may
put you in a position where you agree to help out even
though you know it is neither in your best interest, not
the best interest of your family to do so.

* Forget everything you have ever learned about saying no
to friends and family and when the people to whom you have
the hardest time saying no come to you again with requests
for help, be sure to gladly acquiesce ' right before you
launch into a laundry list of things you would like them to
help you with. For example, if your mother in law seeks to
enlist your help in cutting the grass, trimming the shrubs
and doing various other things around her yard during your
working hours, sweetly agree and then ask her in the same
breath to come over to your house that evening, baby-sit
the kids, make the dinner, and also tidy up the sitting
room a bit so that you can get the work done you were
unable to get to while you were doing the yard work. She
will get the point.

even find a domain name that's related to your business in
Yahoo.  This could save you an instant $200 off the Yahoo

Think of the possibilities here.  For the cost of a single
domain name, there could be loads of traffic just waiting
for you!  It costs less than $10 to register a domain name
nowadays, and coupled with the potential immediate traffic,
you cannot find a better deal than this.  It's estimated
that over 3 million visitors are hitting an expired domain
every day.  That is mostly targeted traffic, and I'm
willing to bet that you'd like to get a piece of that
action.  If so, then it's time to start working and get
those wasted traffic to your site.

But why did these domains expire in the first place?  There
could be several reasons.  Sometimes webmasters just get
weary of all the work involved in developing and
maintaining the site.  Perhaps they become too busy with
work or with their personal lives.  Others may have
carelessly let their domains expire without knowing it, and
several may have met with financial problems, so they just
stopped maintaining the site.

One good thing about this whole situation, though, is that
the traffic that these expired domains have generated since
the time they were active just keeps on coming.  If you're
a virtual realtor in cyberspace, this could make for some
very attractive real estate indeed.  Registering expired
domains need some careful research on your part, though.
Most important of all, you have to be certain that the
domain's traffic isn't coming from websites that you'd want
to avoid at all costs, like porn sites or such.

Now, if you have done your job and made sure that the
traffic is satisfactory, you have two options for taking
advantage of your new domain.  First option is to redirect
the traffic from the previously expired domain to your own
site.  Second option is to sell off the domain, which could
be very profitable for you, depending on how heavy the
traffic is.

Sales is a Game of Chess

Sales is very much like a game of chess!

First of all, think of it as FUN! That's right. Sales is
just a fun game and sometimes you win and sometimes you
lose. But, it's fun all the same.

There are certain moves and strategies that you need to
learn in order to succeed.

You also need to pay close attention to your opponent (aka:
prospect). You need to study them closely in order to
assess what your next move will be.

Every single person has human needs that need to be filled.
It is your job to zero in on what needs your prospect has.
You then play your part accordingly.

The needs that most prospects have are:

- Money

- Security

- Status and Power

- Praise

- Personal growth and transformation

People buy benefits and solutions to their problems. So, if
they are poor they want a way to be rich. If they feel that
they have no control over their life, they want a way to
feel in control.

Prospects don't want information; they want answers!

It is our job as salespeople to:

1) Find out their needs

2) Help them understand how we will fill their need

Unfortunately, most salespeople begin their sales
conversations by inundating their prospect with all the
wonderful features of their product or company. The
salesperson tells the prospect that their product is the
newest on the market. Or perhaps their product is the best
value.

Believe it or not, People actually don't care about this.
They don't care if the product is the best price if it
doesn't solve their problems.

People care about how their life will change because of you
and/or your product.

The features of your company should all be explained on the
company website ' that is where your prospect should go to
learn about your product.

The only conversation you should have with a prospect about
the product facts are by answering their questions. Never
start out your sales conversation by listing out all the
wonderful things about your product.

Instead, start by asking questions! That is the most
important job that you have.

You ask questions so that you can figure out their needs
and problems. Unfortunately, most salespeople do not ask
enough questions. They perhaps ask two or three questions
and then move on into "presentation mode."

The second most important part of sales is to listen to
their answers. You need to carefully hear what your
prospect is saying. If you listen, your prospect will
reveal an enormous amount of information to you.

Once you understand where they are coming from, you can
then plan your strategy accordingly.

Remember, sales is much like a game of chess. Even though
it can be fun, you need to practice and refine your moves
until you become an expert!

Personal Branding: It's All About You!

Network Marketing is all about you. It is about branding
yourself. It is not about your product, service, or
opportunity. Your company pay plan means nothing. Even the
famous and rich founder of the company or their track
record can be totally forgotten. Keep reading and you will
learn why.

The Network Marketing arena is actually a small world. You
will find a lot of the same people joining a lot of the
same programs or companies. If you have been in this
industry long enough you are probably used to seeing the
same people again and again, as you and them are exploring
the new life that enters our industry at a rapid pace. It
is normal for most people and even expected to be in many
more than one business. In fact, it is not uncommon to be,
or have been, part of a dozen or even more over time.

How can this benefit you as a network marketer? It is not
only you who sees other marketers time and again, they also
see you time and again. But in order for you to make an
impact on them and draw them to you, you need to make a
positive impression that will be a memory attached to your
name. To be the person that this person decides to join the
next business under you need to attract them to you, and
they need to like you. This means you need to create
personal branding for yourself. You need to create an
opportunity for them to actually WANT to be a part of your
business, buy your product, or whatever else your final
goal is.

No e-mail list is exclusive. The fact is, each and every
person is on many other marketers contact lists and so they
receive e-mails from all kinds of people. If you have an
e-mail list (which you should, or else you should start
building one) you need to remember that it is not exclusive
to you. These people are receiving messages from other
people. When the next business launches or the next product
is launched, they could potentially receive an invitation
from many other marketers, not just you! What are you
offering them that will make them want to work with you
instead of all the other people they could work with? Now
you can see the value of personal branding. Once you have
built a personal brand so people trust and like you, they
will be much more inclined to go with you instead of all
those other people... and that is when you start making the
real money.

As I said in the introduction, people are not interested
only in the product, service, or opportunity. The pay plan
alone will not make them join you. YOU will make them join
you. That means that the impression you give them will help
them decide if they want to work with you or not.

So how do you create personal branding? I will cover this
briefly because there are really many possibilities, but
there are some major tips I can give you:

1) Always strive to offer more support to your downline,
more helpful tips and content for your e-mail list, and
more quality relationships than anyone else. This in turn
will provide you with a loyal membership that will want to
always stand by your side, no matter what. I know many
people who have huge lists compared to me, yet when I send
an offer to my list they are highly responsive because of
this.

2) Use websites to brand yourself. Offer people who don't
know you the ability to read and learn more about you
online, without even interacting personally with you. It is
surprising how connected someone can feel to you just by
reading your printed words on your website, listening to
your audio, or viewing your video. No matter who you are,
you need a website. The network marketing industry is
relying more and more on personal connections, and if you
aren't following the wave you could be left behind while
the ones who started branding themselves now pick up the
pieces you left behind. I have had people read my blog, my
bio I posted on my website or articles I have written and
later during our first actual conversation they tell me
that they feel like they already know me! If people feel
like they know you before you even talk to them you are on
the right track. On your website create a personal bio and
tell your story. Explain how you got into network
marketing, why you wanted to get into it, and what your
goals are. Let them see the whole picture and invite them
to become a part of it.

3) On every promotion you have, include your name, and
preferably a photo picture, with a personal touch. If you
promote splash or lead capture pages online try to create
your own so you can add a personal touch and a photo. Think
of the individual that you would be talking to, and write
like you were actually speaking to them. This way your
words will mean something to them and draw them in.

4) Write a regular newsletter to your contact list. I
dedicate myself to writing at least one quality article per
week. If I would write more maybe they would not be as top
quality and I want to offer the best I can to my
subscribers. If your contacts are seeing value in being on
your list they will not want to unsubscribe because they
know they will become more knowledgeable and in turn
improve their online business. If you help them improve
their business they will be more likely to return the favor
and work with you. Always seek out to learn and increase
your knowledge and you will always have more to write
about. If you have a blog you can easily post your
newsletters to it and increase traffic and exposure.

There is much more you can do but that should help you get
started. Remember to focus on creating quality
relationships with others. As a rule, ask more about them
and their experiences than you do talking about your own.
If you stop trying to think of a way to get them into your
business and instead focus on helping others and connecting
with them then you will start to experience more joy and
accomplishment in your business. The students I have had
and the people I have seen most successful in network
marketing are those that you can recognize by their name
alone. Next time when someone sees you in another business,
especially in social networks, give them a reason to say...
"I remember you because..."

Affiliate Marketing Training -- Work At Home, Can You Stay Grounded Part 2

In part 1 of this series, we explored the realities of
establishing a work at home affiliate marketing  business.
In part 2, we'll look at the value of establishing
relationships on line that will prove beneficial to you
personally, and to the growth of your online business.

The one major factor lacking in comparing the 'brick and
mortar' business world with the 'online' business world is
communication and interpersonal relationships. The word to
describe this lacking ingredient would be Mentor ... a
person uniquely involved with your development and willing
to critique your progress and offer a plan of action for
continual growth. The best mentor for you is the person who
takes an interest in your growth, and is willing to stick
by you through all of your slips and falls.

The very nature of the internet makes this a tough nut to
crack. Initially, it makes complete sense that if you are
in a person's downline or an active affiliate, your success
certainly enhances their success. Does this happen? In my
experience, rarely. Of all the lists and programs that I am
in, I have received only 1 unsolicited personal message and
1 phone call from my immediate upline.  I have received
responses to MY initiated upline contact, but every other
communication has been either a follow up or broadcast
autoresponder message.

Are there really successful Internet marketers that are
willing to take you under their wing?

Yes, and here is an example.  Recently, a well known, very
successful internet marketer said the following.    She
stated that she had reached a point where grand scale
growth was no longer her primary focus.  Wow!   Her primary
focus was going to shift from directly building her
business to developing her people that were willing to
accept her help and advice. She acknowledged that 'people
development' had been lacking in her organization, and, in
order to cement long term stability, it was necessary to
personally develop strong links in her chain.

So, where do you find one of these 'people' persons.

This is where the patience and persistence comes into play.
 Just as in establishing a rapport and level of trust with
your lists, you must do the same when approaching a
potential consultant or mentor.  After an initial approach
and response, your communication should be brief, polite,
and to the point.  You must convince them that helping you
will be a wise investment of their valuable time.  Like any
other business decision that they make, a return on their
investment will be a factor. This makes your upline in any
given program a logical choice, but don't limit your
options to strictly this approach.  Be aggressive, take
action, go after what you want/need.

DO NOT be intimidated by a name or fail to take action
because you're afraid of getting no response or a generic
"join this program and all will be revealed" response. That
is exactly the type of person that you ARE looking for.
Why? ... so you can scratch them OFF your list of potential
mentors and keep looking!

Must a mentor be an individual?  Not at all. One of the
programs that I promote provides me with some of the best
advice and response rates to my questions. I very seldom
talk to the same person twice, but the information is
always excellent and not only helps me grow in their
program, but in all areas of my business.

Finding a mentor is not necessarily an instant roadmap to
the pot of gold. However, doing so can certainly improve
the process of establishing a solid business plan, and
creating a clearer vision of where you are and how to get
to where you want to be.

You must be realistic about your expectations. If you don't
have the patience to learn as you go, you are only setting
yourself up for a series of frustrations.  Be willing to
take the advice of those individuals that have proven that
your success is important to them ... not simply your check
in their bank account.

Bottom line ... there is no Holy Grail! Humble yourself and
seek out and accept all of the help that you can get. Don't
let a prideful "I can and will do this" mentality lead you
down the wrong path. When you hit a roadblock, ask for
help, and if that is not forthcoming, retreat and take the
time to fully discover the true nature of the roadblock,
and take whatever steps are necessary to overcome it.  This
may take a little time and effort, but once accomplished,
it will never be a problem again. Accept the reality that
time, in this industry, is most often measured in weeks and
months, NOT days.

An old saying sums up a healthy philosophy towards building
 a work at home business ... "How do you eat an elephant?
..... One bite at a time".  If you need to humble yourself
and ask for help, so be it.  After all, you are trying to
build a successful affiliate marketing online business here
... not inflate your  ego!   Success and a growing bank
account will be all of the recognition that you need! :-)

"Owning" an Online Bookstore the Easy Way

I've always wanted to have a bookstore/knitting store, and
having one online is so much easier than a bricks and
mortar store. However, there are pros and cons to each, and
I'd like to share them in the hopes that my story can help
anyone interested in opening an online bookstore in their
own carefully researched niche.

Finding your carefully researched niche is important for
several reasons. With the likes of Amazon and Barnes and
Noble as competition, you have to carve out a very specific
small piece of the online bookstore pie and serve it with
whipping cream. By that I mean, you have to create a very
focused smaller bookstore that offers something that bigger
websites don't have - a very warm, personal touch.

The Pros of Owning an Online Bookstore

I have chosen affiliate programs as the basis of my
bookstore because I don't have to deal with receiving
payments, accepting credit cards, processing orders,
storing inventory, taking back orders, shipping, and so on
and on.

I have my own website, customized and under my control, I
don't have to dress up, do my hair, makeup etc. to go to
work, my store is open 24/7/365 to customers around the
world, I never meet cranky people face to face (just
sometimes in emails!) and my store is private and always
peaceful (no cranky kids!).

I had two options for running my online bookstore, I chose
the first. I can simply fill my site with quality, relevant
content pages and encourage visitors to click through to
the merchant's website to purchase, or I can use a data
feed to create a carbon copy of the original store on my
website. I still have to write original copy, to make it
unique and not be penalized as duplicate content, but I can
have a huge site instantly, automatically updated. Visitors
then don't need to leave my website to make their purchases.

The Cons of Owning an Online Bookstore

Of course there are always arguments against shopping
online; the cons are that bookstores are lovely places to
visit. There are book signings, readings, and the joy of
finding a few interesting books, taking them to a
comfortable chair, and giving them a good look before
deciding whether to purchase. And of course, online sites
malfunction more often than stores have to unexpectedly
close.

As an affiliate marketer there are some things that can
make online shoppers annoyed, reluctant and skeptical that
you won't have to deal with personally, but you will have
to be convincing enough to overcome their hesitation.

If your customer knows exactly what they want, no problem,
but if they want to "window shop" the process can be
painfully slow as they move from page to page. If they like
to "scan and let something pop out at them", they can
become frustrated at only being able to view what fits on
one page at a time.

When it's time to pull out the plastic, they may question
the security of ordering with their card online, wonder if
they want to pay high shipping costs, and what happens if
they need to return an order?

How I Made My Decision

Most of the cons can be compensated for or avoided by
careful choosing of affiliate programs. Few online book
companies simply offer books. They also offer reviews,
contests, coupons, and ways to participate in what feels
like a community.

Website design with care taken to make navigation clear and
simple can make browsing and comparison shopping easier,
and of course stores with great track records,
testimonials, and security in place make all the difference
with consumer confidence.

For me, love of my niche combined with love of books
convinced me that I'd made a great choice, and success is
almost assured as my next love, writing, makes it easy to
write book reviews. If this all makes sense to you, then

Most people get into a home based business with an
affiliate program or by joining a network marketing
company. And one of the benefits of becoming part of an
established program is the fact that much of the
advertising documents are done for you. Such as a website,
sales copy, banners, etc.

But if you want to maximize your advertising dollar you
need to set yourself apart from the rest and a landing page
also known as a "squeeze page" is the perfect method.

Creating your own landing page gives you freedoms to
generate traffic you don't have with the company website.
Below are a few ideas that will increase your traffic when
utilizing a landing page over the company website.

It's not all about you

The information on the landing page should not be all about
you nor should it divulge your entire product. The key to a
good landing page is "what's in if for them". You want to
make it captivating so they are willing give you their
information to find out more about what you have to offer.

Every good landing page will provide something to the
reader. In order for them to give you what you're looking
for, their name and email address, they want some value for
that information. This can be in the form of a free e-book,
news letter or maybe a series of training on say driving
traffic to your website. If the information you provide is
of value, this positions you as an authority and increases
your chances of making a sale. The key here is to always
give before you expect to receive.

Make sure you headline utilizes the main keywords you want

Skepticism is a part of life and business.  People don't
trust you at face value it is completely up to you to earn
their trust.  I hear it ALL THE TIME.  Excuses why it won't
work for them... because their business is "different".
They tried it before and it failed so there is no way it
will work now.

"Direct Marketing doesn't work"

There is really 2 forms of marketing at play... measurable
results marketing and non-measurable results marketing.

The kind you cannot directly measure (in terms of dollars
generated from a specific campaign or marketing action) is
commonly called image or brand marketing.  The point behind
those kinds of campaigns is to build general awareness of
your offering and your message and not about specific
results on a day-by-day basis.  There have been many
multi-million (and billion) dollar empires built
exclusively on this form of marketing (firms that have
never used direct marketing techniques).

BUT... the average entrepreneur doesn't have deep enough
pockets to sustain imagine only advertising.

They need to know right now what ad is working or sales
letter is pulling in clients and which aren't. Without this
knowledge they will quickly go broke.

When they know which ad, placed in which media publication
or website, works and makes them money they then have a
system they can repeat until it stops working.  They can
measure exactly what each new lead costs them to generate
and how much they need to invest in each real lead to
convert them to a paying customer and then how much to
convert each one-time customer to a repeat buyer.

This knowledge is pure gold when you know it.

And yes, direct marketing DOES work and can be proven right
down to the penny how well it does work.  You cannot say
that about image or brand awareness campaigns (the exact
amount it made for the business can never be measured as
they have no way of measuring it).

"No one will read all those words people are different now
and don't read as much"

There is truth in that people are increasingly lazy and
illiterate. BUT, and this is a big but, are your clients in
that group? If you are trying to sell to a bunch of ADD
13-somethings then long copy sales letters with zero
graphics probably won't work all that well.  But, it you
are trying to sell to the boomer or senior market they want
to know what they are buying and will research what you are
selling until their fears are alleviated (that is assuming
you kept their attention throughout the copy).

The key is to balance the copy with supporting visuals. And
then to match this balance with your exact target market.

Lots of people (including myself) are testing shorter copy
websites that have people clicking through to specific
things they want to see rather than asking them to scroll
down through a 25 page sales letter.

People won't read all those words if they are boring... or
if they are not the right target market... or if the visual
appeal is downright hideous... or if the offer makes no
sense or the claim sounds ridiculous.

You have to test and find out what the balance should be
between words...graphics... message/market match... and the
offer.

Only through testing will you know what the right amount of
words is.

And assuming you know is the surest way to kill your
marketing results.  You don't know what your clients want
until you ask them (through marketing tests). They will
often tell you they want one thing, but will show different
responses when tested.

It is completely up to you to find the perfect match.

"There is a magical percentage conversion rate"

This is quite common. "I need a 2% conversion rate anything
below that is unacceptable." My question to them is "WHY?"
Any person familiar with marketing 101 knows that the real
money is in the backend products and services you sell to
your clients. If you are selling a $25 book you will never
get rich without something to sell. You MUST have something
else at a much higher price point to sell.

And if you know that 10% of your book buyers will buy your
$1,000 backend offer who cares if you lose money or break
even on the book sale.

In other words concern yourself less about the conversion
rate and start worrying about the PROFIT you make.  If you
don't have a system in place to up the profit you make
after the initial sale (to a new client) then a 3%
conversion rate (which is very good on it's own) means
nothing other than the fact you are going broke fast
selling your $25 book.

Do you honestly think that a company selling million
dollar, ocean front, and gated community homes is concerned
about a 1% response rate to their mailer?  They are more
concerned with the quality of people they attract and the
follow up system they use to make sure the lead buys.

They may only get a 0.1% response rate to their mailer but
it makes them a million dollars.

"Hiring a professional marketer or copywriter is guaranteed
to make you a million dollars first time you run the promo"

HA! If you were guaranteed to make a million from a simple
letter campaign do you think any sane copywriter would
price his services below... say.... $500,000 per letter
campaign?

Of course not.

The only guarantees you can expect from your copywriter or
marketer is that they will find the approach that works
best with your clients and your offer. They should be
willing to stick with you, and rewrite, until the perfect
combination of client offer and media is found.

Also, if there was a "magic" guarantee and formula that
worked every time there would only be need for one book or
training course on it right?

The guarantee is more about the persistence of your team
members to do whatever they need to do to make the
promotion work.

Direct marketing is a field few understand and those who
don't understand it like to bash it.  Remember, many people
use direct marketing in their business and see exceptional
results and it can work for you too if you give it a chance
and some patience.  The perfect combination of message
market media and you will have a winner. But to find the
combination, it may take time, money and lots of patience.

submission creates some of the most highly targeted traffic
possible, as long as you write specifically to your
purchasing web site audience.  One thing that is incredibly
powerful with this is the emotional connection a reader
develops with the style of writing in the article.
Therefore, it is important that the copywriter for your web
site also be the writer for your articles, if at all
possible.  The style of writing is one of the things that
prompts a reader to click through to your web site, and if
the style remains the same, you are more likely to create a
customer out of the click.

Ezine Advertising:  One of the keys with ezine advertising
is targeted ezines.  The more tightly targeted the topic of
the ezine, and the more highly correlated that topic is

The pay structure is an immediate comp plan, having done
away with the dinosaur 2up comp plan of Passport To Wealth.
This means that you will be paid on your first sale, rather
than having to pass up your first 2 sales to your personal
sponsor.

My Internet Business does offer a call center where you can
hire your own PBA (Professional Business Assistant). Your
PBA will take the calls from your incoming prospects and
you will pay them a portion of your commission for closing
your sales for you.

Conclusion

Although MyInternetBusiness is not a scam, it does appear
to have some negative attributes. It appears that My
Internet Business was designed to eliminate the failed 2up
comp plan of Passport to Wealth. While the 2up comp plan
did need to be eliminated, the pay structure of My Internet
Business is not as lucrative as some other high ticket
programs.

The way to achieve duplication and massive leverage is
through a matching override comp plan such as Big Ticket To

Privacy & Data Security: Follow FTC Guidelines... Or Suffer The Consequences

Generally, you are required to protect personal information
stored on your website's server by implementing reasonable
and appropriate data security measures. If you fail
regarding this general requirement, you will be subject to
claims from website visitors whose information has been
compromised.

In addition, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) continues
to aggressively file suits for security violations under
Section 5 of the FTC Act which prohibits unfair or
deceptive practices.

A good example is the enforcement action brought by the FTC
against LifeIsGood.com for failure to implement reasonable
and appropriate data security measures.  This case is
significant because the FTC expects all sites to follow
guidelines provided in the settlement of the case.

Lifeisgood.com's Privacy Statement

Life Is Good collected sensitive consumer information,
including names, addresses, credit card numbers, credit
card expiration dates, and credit card security codes
through its website. Its privacy policy claimed: "We are
committed to maintaining our customers' privacy. We collect
and store information you share with us - name, address,
credit card and phone numbers along with information about
products and services you request. All information is kept
in a secure file and is used to tailor our communications
with you."

The FTC Claims

The FTC alleged that, contrary to its privacy policy, Life
Is Good failed to provide reasonable and appropriate
security for the sensitive consumer information stored on
its computer network.

Specifically, the FTC alleged that Life Is Good:

1.  unnecessarily risked credit card information by storing
it indefinitely in clear, readable text on its network, and
by storing credit card security codes;

2.  failed to assess adequately the vulnerability of its
Web site and corporate computer network to commonly known
and reasonably foreseeable attacks, such as SQL injection
attacks;

3.  failed to implement simple, free or low-cost, and
readily available security defenses to SQL and similar
attacks;

4.  failed to use readily available security measures to
monitor and control connections from the network to the
Internet; and

5.  failed to employ reasonable measures to detect
unauthorized access to credit card information. The
Settlement

In its settlement with the FTC announced in a press release
dated January 17, 2008, Life Is Good agreed to implement
the following 5 administrative, technical, and physical
safeguards in the future. These 5 safeguards are 5
excellent tips -- delivered straight from the FTC -- that
you should also follow:

1.  Designate an employee or employees to coordinate the
information security program.

2.  Identify internal and external risks to the security
and confidentiality of personal information and assess the
safeguards already in place.

3.  Design and implement safeguards to control the risks
identified in the risk assessment and monitor their
effectiveness.

4.  Develop reasonable steps to select and oversee service
providers that handle the personal information of customers.

5.  Evaluate and adjust its information-security program to
reflect the results of monitoring any material changes to
the company's operations, or other circumstances that may
impact the effectiveness of its security program.

Conclusion

Sometimes form is as important as substance. What I mean is
how you do something, and the fact that you documented it
at the time you actually did it, is sometimes just as
important as the fact that you did it.

The settlement safeguards in the Life Is Good case are a
prime example. Simply having what you believe is a good
data security program is one thing, but being able to
document that you went through the steps outlined by the
FTC is another.

The Life Is Good case points the way to what will work for
data security. So, it's highly recommended that you set up
a filing system that preserves your documentation and
indicates you went through these steps, and when you did
it. Then set up a tickler to remind you to go through the
steps on an annual basis.

We know that there is no data security program that is 100%
safe from illegal intrusions. If you have an unfortunate
data security breach, it's likely the FTC or a state
regulator will come knocking at your door. That's why it's
so important for you to be able to produce a file that
clearly shows you implemented reasonable and appropriate
data security measures in accordance with the FTC
guidelines.

Make a Connection with Your Ezine Readers

Are there ezines that you receive that you just can't wait
to read? I know I have 3 or 4 that I read as soon as they
hit my inbox, and others that I print and put in my
"reading box" next to my desk.

What do you think makes me want to read those few right
away?

It's the personal connection I feel to the author, even if
I don't know that person (some I've met, some I haven't
yet). Besides the valuable content I get each time I read
their newsletter, I am most interested in finding out
what's happening with them, personally and professionally.

As they share more about themselves and their lives, I get
to know, like and trust them (and their products or
services) over time (and you know that people only buy from
people they know, like, and trust, right?). And eventually
I tend to make the investment in them and their offerings.

For example, I was a subscriber to Chris Barrow's "More
Profit in Less Time" ezine for about a year when I learned
through it that he was holding a live event in NYC. I
signed up (at $200), attended the event, and left as a
client (for $450/month). Do you think I would have invested
that kind of money if I hadn't gotten to know, like, and
trust CB and his materials? Of course not.

So, how can you put more of YOU in your ezine to make that
connection with your readers? Try some of the following:

1. What's going on with you?

Can you think of two or three things that are happening in
your life right now that you could share with your readers?
You only need to get as personal as you feel comfortable
with, so don't feel that you need to share everything, by
any means. Just a couple of things that you can share
comfortably that your readers might find interesting as
well as help them feel more connected to you.

For example, are you going on vacation soon or did you just
get back from a trip? This is usually an easy topic to
start with, and don't be surprised if your readers write to
you to suggest hotels, tell you their experiences when they
visited the same locale, etc.

Or do you have a pet that you can relate stories about?
You'll be amazed at how many of your readers will feel like
they really know you if you share your latest "adventures
with Rover" stories.

2. Ask for help.

If you are trying to make a decision about something, ask
your readers for suggestions and feedback. To continue the
vacation example above, say you are considering taking a
cruise. Ask your readers for suggestions as to their
favorite cruise line, or which ones to avoid. They'll be
happy to help!

Or for an another example, I know when we go to sell our
house soon that the first people I'm going to let know
about it are my ezine readers. Maybe none of them would be
interested, but they might know someone who is!

3. Add photos.

I try to add a photo every week if I can (it's not hard
when I take a lot of pictures of my kids!). A photo of
yourself is also a really good idea. It goes a long way in
helping your readers see you as a real person.

Try to incorporate these ideas into one section of your
ezine, either at the beginning or the end. You can call it
anything you like: A note from you, personal reflections,
from the desk of_______, etc. Personally, I like to see it
at the beginning since it's usually the part I read first.

Remember not to take up too much space, though. You still
want the majority of your ezine to contain quality content
for you reader, since that's why they signed up in the
first place!

What You Need To Know About The Search Engines' Pasts

Search engines have had a difficult relationship history.
They've tried to be open-hearted and trusting. But
unethical website owners, spammers, and other cheaters have
used their trusting ways against them and worked their way
into the top of the rankings with lies.

And search engines get hurt by that. Their job, above all
else, is to help the people using them to search for
information. When spammers rather than valid websites get
to the top, the search engines can't do their jobs well.
That frustrates searchers, and the search engines don't
help them find what they need.

So how can you get the search engines to trust your website
enough to list it? The answer is to know what they are
looking for when you start a relationship with them.

Don't just give them another line (of code)

The search engines no longer use the META Keyword tag when
ranking your site. This tag is hidden at the top of your
website's HTML. It used to be one of the major areas the
search engines looked at when determining what your site
was all about.

The intent of this tag was for site owners to list words
and phrases explaining what their sites were about. But it
was rarely used in ethical ways. People would list terms
they thought would help their sites come up in popular
searches—"free," "money," and "sex" were all popular back
in the early days of the Internet.

After a while, this practice was so widespread that the
search engines decided to do something about it. They
stopped looking at this tag at all.

These days, the most common use of the META Keyword tag is
your competitors researching your optimization strategy. If
you already use a META Keyword tag, consider having it
removed. If you're coding or optimizing your website, leave
it off and concentrate on putting your keywords in the body
text of your website instead—where they belong.

They want you to put all your cards on the table.

A while ago, some website owners decided they wanted to
have very little copy on their sites. They still wanted to
come up strong on the search engines. The search engines
were no longer really looking at the META tags. The problem
was how to have a site that looked as though it had very
little text but still had enough information for the search
engines to give it a good ranking.

Some of these website owners came up with what they thought
was a brilliant solution. They'd add more text to the site
at the bottom of the page below the copyright. And they'd
make this text the same color as the background—which
basically meant that it was invisible to human website
visitors. But the search engines would still see it in the
code, read it, and count it toward their ranking.

The search engines caught on to this little trick pretty
quickly. If they catch you at it, they'll blacklist your
site, which means that they'll kick it out of their results
listing. And it will be really difficult to get back in! So
make sure our site isn't using any invisible text—and that
all the text on the site is visible to humans and the
search engines.

They hate doors and mirrors.

Have you ever searched for something online and clicked on
what you thought was the perfect match, only to come to
what was little more than a full-page advertisement or a
bunch of links? Disappointing, isn't it? And then there's a
link at the bottom of the page pointing to the site you
originally thought you were originally going to? By this
point, you already have a sour taste in your mouth.

Or you're looking for a piece of information and you click
a couple of links that look like exactly the same site with
slightly different words. You get a sense of déjà vu and
start to feel a bit like you're losing your mind, right?

This tactic is called doorway and mirror sites. The search
engines feel exactly the same way that you do about
them—because, again, the search engines want searchers to
be happy with the results they get from their queries, not
disgruntled or confused.

When you start your relationship with the search engines,
make sure that your site optimization strategy focuses on
ethical ways of getting their attention—like being
content-rich, having links with other high-quality sites
(not link farms!), and updating your site on a regular
basis. Those tactics will ensure that you start a love
affair with the search engines instead of just heading for
a bad breakup.

In my last article, my aim was to help you get an idea of

considered your personal skills and interests, you will

It is possible to turn a hobby or special interest into a
business. For example: - Special skills in some type of
craftwork could generate an income. You would need to do

space and equipment to work? - An interest and ability in

On April 1st 2008 Ebay dropped the hatchet on many of those
who are selling digital products on their network.  While
this news devastated some, this is actually good news for
legit sellers.  This puts the sellers of the 1 penny
e-books down for the count.  In the past this was a way to
greatly manipulate your feedback as well as boost ACRU fees
almost devilishly.  With that said, the change will
actually bring back respectability to Ebay's digital
products section.

As a seller of digital products myself the news at first
was scary.  However a warmth overcame me shortly as I
realized this was actually a very good thing.  It seemed
far to often with Ebay, that people were selling useless,
rehashed and often unfinished low quality products within.
Many times these e-books were marketed for a penny and used
 to build up one's email list and add extra increases to
their feedback score.  Most of these type of e-books
offered little to no value to the reader whatsoever.  Ebay
realized the problem and had been working for a while now
to put an end to this.  Throughout April they expect to
clean up their inventory greatly, by removing such gimmicks.

This opened up two options for anyone selling digital
products on their network.  The options were either to
adapt or leave a rich cash harvesting empire behind.  Even
though Ebay now offers the classified ad feature where you
may still place a digital product, most are not willing to
go that route.  The classified ad option does not allow one
to collect feedback, nor are transaction actually done
through Ebay.  You must now add your own link or Paypal
button to make the sale.  The other way to still sell an
e-book or digital product on Ebay is to have a physical
product created with it and offer the digital product on a
CD or DVD instead.  That option simply isn't in many
marketers line of sight and may in fact, be to expensive.

Time will tell how the classified ad or CD/DVD options fare
on Ebay but one thing is for certain this will help clean
up much of the manipulation of sales, email accounts and
feedback scores.  Just the other day I already noticed a
decline in amount of e-books and digital products listed on
Ebay.  If someone was looking to sell digital products on
Ebay now is probably the best time.  Right after something
changes is usually the best time to get in on what is bound
to be a good thing.

In this article I am going to discuss the pros and cons of
joining a monthly membership site.

I will tell you first a little bit about my personal
experiences; in the beginning I was very hesitant with the
thought of another monthly bill to pay and maybe you feel

I mean isn't their enough bills to pay every month, so why
add another one to the pile?

Maybe money is tight for you and if it is, then I do not
recommend adding to your expenses. But if you do have some

I personally belong to several membership sites and find
them all worthy of my time and my investment.

Now it is really up to the individual, some people find the
camaraderie that exists in some membership sites or the
community forums a valuable resource.

Although I do like that aspect as well I find that I learn
new concepts quicker just by reading forum posts and
following some examples.

Is an e-book a better choice since it is a one time payment?

I have read many e-books and extracted a lot of great
information from them but I also find myself with questions

Networking and building connections with other people that

they are likley to click on another page that sounds
interesting. They get there because of the other links that
appears on a page that they initially landed on. This is
site navigation. It is all about enabling visitors to move
about your site. And one way of optimizing your Adsense
earnings.

A typical website has menu links on each page. The wording
on these links is what will get a visitor's attention and
gets them to click on one of the links that will take them
to another page of that website. Links that have "free' or
"download" are oftentimes good attention-grabbers.

This navigation logic can also be used to drive traffic to
your high paying pages. There are some websites that are
getting a lot of traffic from search engines, but have low
earnings. The trick is to try and use come cleverly labeled
links to get the visitors off that pages and get them to go
to the higher earning ones. This is one great way of
turning real cheap clicks to real dollars.

Before you begin testing if this same style will work for
you and you website, you will need to have two things.
Something to track and compare and some high earning pages
you want to funnel your site traffic to. One option is to
select a few of your frequently visited pages. This is
ensuring fast result to come by.

Now, the next thing to do is think of ways to get visitors
viewing a particular page to try and click on the link that
will take them to your high earning pages. Come up with a
catchy description for that link. Come up with a catchy and
unique description for the link. Think of something that
people do not get to see everyday. That will get them
currious enough to try and see what that was all about.

You can also use graphics to grab your readers' attention.
There is no limitation to what you can do to make your link
noticeable. If you are after the success of your site, you
will do everything it takes just to achieve that goal. Be
creative. As far as many Adsense advertisers are concerned,
there are no written and unwritten laws to follow regarding
what they write. Do not overstep the guidelines of the
search engines, then go for it.

Also remember that it is all about location, location and
location. Once the perfect attention grabbing description
has been achieved, you have to identify the perfect spot on
your page to position that descriptive link to your high
paying page.

I would recommend visiting other websites to see how they
are going about maximizing their site navigation. "Hot
pages" or "Most read" lists are very common and are used to
death. Get to know the ones that many websites are using
and do not try to imitate them.

Another way of doing it is to try and use different texts
on different pages. That way you will see the ones that
work and what does not. Try to mix things around also. Put
links on top and sometimes on the bottom too. This is how
you go about testing which ones get more clicks and which
ones are being ignored.

Let the testing begin. Testing and tracking until you find
the site navigation style that works best for you site.

And as a result, we managed to lure back 4.5% of runaway
customers to complete their purchase. It was a novel idea
at its time and it continues to work!

Here's what we do...

First, we ask customers to provide only their first name,
email address, and shipping country on Step 1 of our
two-step checkout process. We ask for country because we
want to show the total price, including the cost of
shipping, upfront. When the customer selects a country, the
shipping price gets automatically updated underneath the
product cost.

The customer can then click on their preferred payment
method to complete the checkout process. In this next step
they are asked to provide the rest of their details
including their shipping address and billing information.

We are careful not to ask for too much personal information
and get only what is absolutely necessary.

Between these two steps, something interesting is happening
in the background. We keep track of the customer's first
name and email address submitted during Step 1. If they
arrive at Step 2 and then abandon the cart, we still have
their email address and first name captured.

If the purchase is not completed within 3 hours, the
customer is sent a personalized email by our autoresponder
reminding them of their incomplete purchase.

The email politely asks if we could help them complete
their order, as well as clarifies some common
misconceptions about the product and fears about ordering
online. We also provide a link back to the shopping cart
for them to complete their order. Thanks to this simple
email, our sales jumped by 4.5%.

Sending this email makes customers feel reassured and more
confident about their purchase, and it helps our bottom
line without any additional expenditures. With this email
we attempt to answer the customer's questions in a
friendly, personalized manner.

We picked 6 questions to answer. In our case, we identified
these 6 questions simply by speaking to our customer
support reps and noting the most commonly asked questions
they had been receiving from customers.

This is a path we strongly recommend. Speak to your
customer support reps and identify the most commonly asked
questions and problems associated with your site's ordering

Another strategy to use in your "What Went Wrong?" email is
to offer the customer a coupon. For example, they could get

does not mean that you have lost the sale. With a little

you now search for ezine owners within in your niche market
who have email lists to promote to. These are the marketers
who will be able to promote the sellers products to their
opted-in lists of members.

3. One by one, approach each of the marketers in turn and
offer them the opportunity to increase their earnings by
signing up as a second tier affiliate and promoting the
sellers products to their list of members. Once they sign
up, your work with that deal is finished. You will have
created a stream of income that will continue as long as
that marketer keeps getting sales.

You then go on brokering more deals, using the same method.
This way you will be able to continue creating multiple
streams of income for yourself.

Think about it! It's a win-win situation for all concerned.
The sellers are making money, the marketers are making
money and you have created income streams that can provide
hundreds or even thousands of dollars for yourself that can
go on for a long, long time.

half their bids ' sometimes that's when they get their only
bids. If you want your item to sell for a good price, then,
it makes no sense to let it finish on a day and time when
no-one's going to be around to place bids or buy.

Selling to Business consumers.

If you're selling business equipment and have mostly
business customers, you should really aim to have your
auctions finishing between 9am and 5pm on weekdays. It is
worth, however, trying to avoid mornings and avoiding the
'lead-in' and 'lead-out' that takes place on Monday and
Friday themselves.

Selling to Home consumers.

If most of your sales are to private customers having it
shipped to their own home, then you want your auctions to
finish when these kind of customers will be around.
Unfortunately, these times are the opposite of what they
are for the business customers. The ideal time to catch a
home customer is on a Sunday evening.

Listing Durations.

In order to get your listings to end on a particular day,
you can simply change the duration of your auctions
depending on what day it is. For example, if you mostly
sell to home consumers and the day today is Thursday, then
your auction needs to run for either 3 or 10 days to hit a
Sunday. If you sell more to business and the day today is
Friday, then:

a 1 day auction would not be good (finishing on Saturday
and no-one will be around to buy or bid), 3 days would be
alright (Monday), 5 days would be good (Wednesday), 7 days
would be good (another Friday), and 10 days would be good
as well (Monday again).

You could draw up a little timetable of when you should and
shouldn't be listing depending on the days of the week '
make it red, amber and green, traffic light style, and
stick it on your wall. You'll want to experiment to find
what day is the best day to end an auction, or you can use
a variety of web-based research tools to determine what day
and what auction duration is best for you product.

Scheduled Listings.

Of course, if that all sounds like too much trouble then
there is an easier ' if slightly more expensive ' way of
doing things. Simply use any of the many tools that let you
schedule listings (almost all listing programs and sites
do) ' you can set the start date for any day and time you
feel like.

Be aware that you will have to pay a few cents per listing
for this if you do it through eBay. With some software, you
may also need to leave your computer on all the time, so
the software can start the auctions when it's supposed to.
The advantage of this method, however, is that there will
be no per-listing fee, since the auctions were scheduled
through your computer and not through eBay.  Check out
Turbolister 2.0.  It is  free from eBay.  You can create as
many auctions as you want and Turbolister will calculate
listing fees and upload all the auctions you want all at
the same time.

Also consider that listing durations can be used to
generate a sense of urgency, especially with sought after
items.  This can appeal to the impulse buyer and urge then
to bid now rather than wait.  Sometimes a 1 or 3 day
auction works best.

is to determine its structure—the pages you want to include
and the information you want provide to visitors. But how
to begin?

Your first instinct may be to make your site different from

business is what you've been doing throughout your branding
process.

Building a website is like building a custom home

When you create a custom house, you can arrange your floor
plan however you want, paint the walls as you please and
fill the house with furniture you love. Your goal is to
create a unique space that stands out from everyone else's.

In the same vein, there are elements of your website where
standing out makes sense. For example, the overall look of
your site and your copy should be different from other
sites—especially those of your competitors.

Differentiating your website is good for your small
business—to a point. What you don't want to do is
reengineer its basic structure.

Standing out isn't always the stable way to build

services. You may also use sites like Elance.com and
RentACoder.com for people who will write articles for you.

2) Blogs: Blogs are not as easy to do as Articles are.  But
they are a very useful tool, nevertheless. When you have a
blog, you have an audience. It like a fan base. They have
certain expectations of you. They want you to churn out hit
singles or albums. But they want you to give them more.
Even though they started out as mere diaries or daily
jottings of a few people, currently they are excellent link
building, content management and search engine optimization
tools.

In fact almost industry may have its blog portal. As always
run a search and you will find something in your industry.
Or you may go to blogger.com or wordpress.com to start your
own blog free of charge.

3) Free Products: The easiest way to do this is to write a
tool and offer it for downloads. Or may be even provide a
service for free. The greatest example of building  a
business with free service that comes to mind is
hotmail.com. Once your service becomes a must-have, its
only a matter of time before you can start making money
from it. Also you can have people point to your site to
give their customers access to your tool.

4) Trackbacks: This is the easiest way to get your links
out there. What you do is go to other blogs(Authority
Sites) in your industry and become a regular contributor.
Or comment on the blogs. Along with your signature, most
people offer a link to your web-site. And the more links
you have pointing back to you, the more popular you get.
Also, when you become a major contributor/commentor, people
start valuing your opinion more.

5) Syndications : You can offer your articles to other
sites for publishing for free or for payment. Your article
links back to your site.

6) Reciprocal links: You offer a link to another peer site,
in return for them linking back to you. This is a good way
to get your target industry users to come to your site.
Also you introduce your users to other sites that they may
be interested in visiting. They will be thankful to you for
pointing them in the right direction. And they come to
trust you more.

7) Partner links : Your local Chamber of commerce,
Suppliers, Resellers, Affiliates, Sites selling
complementary products etc.

8) Study your competition: Google your product and study
the linking strategy of top ranking sites. There are tools

features that I love. These tools help you conduct an
ongoing study of your competition and their rankings
thereby helping you beat them consistently.

Of course, no amount of link popularity will help you if
don't have the content to keep visitors at your site. So
start with good content.

A note of caution! Make sure that you are being linked to
by Authority sites with a Good PageRank. Also the linking
sites should somehow be relevant to your industry. If not,
it only serves to confuse the Search Engines and your
rankings will suffer.

A large number of web site owners are getting their Google
Adsense account terminated when they have done nothing
wrong to deserve the punishment. Considering the money that
they are getting from Adsense, they would certainly want to
get back into it.

Considering the money to be made with Adsense, it is no
wonder that they would want to get back into it.

It is that same consideration why the Google Adsense click
fraud is thought of and why many people are getting into it.

Click fraud is the act of clicking on ads for the purpose
of costing the advertiser money. It is simply the same as
paying out cash for false leads. Many people website owners
are aware of this fraud and are sharing the same sentiment
that this is the one big problem that Adsense is facing.

How do you prevent being involved in this fraud?

Majority of web hosts are offering access logs. Once this
is offered to you, it is necessary that you hand it over to
Google as well. This allows them to look for any suspicious
activity on your site. Problems like this are very serious
and giving it to them is saying that you would want to help
them in any way you can in solving the problem.

It can also help if you have a click monitoring software.
If you do not have one yet, I recommend that you try and
get one. There is absolutely no major factor preventing you
from having one because most of this software is free.

As usual, all the information you have received should be
turned over to Google. This is showing Google that you too
are fighting against click frauds and is in no way a part
of it.

Study your server logs and watch for any activity that
seems suspicious. Report anything that you may find odd,
may it big or small thing.

You may want to consider disabling ads for your own IP
address and local geographic area. This will certainly
prevent accidents and will not make Google mistake another
user as you. You can do through a htaccess file. This will
avoid Google mistaking as clicking on your own ads and be
kicked out because of it.

Keep your Adsense off on pop ups and pop unders. Your ads
should not be displayed on content sites that promote
illegal activity or tampering of the legal rights of other
people or business. Included in this are the content that
is considered adult and gambling ones. If you think that
you may be breaking this rule, immediately remove your
content or Adsense from the web page.

Be truthful and confess up to Google about times when you
might have clicked on your own ads, whether accidentally or
intentionally. Or the times when you have done something
that is against the Terms of Service that they are
implementing. Be honest about anything that you may have
done that is wrong. Confessing is way better than Google
learning about it eventually. It would mean eventual
termination and no getting back what you have worked so
hard for.

Do not tell your family or friends about Adsense on your
website. Chances are they may start clicking on them to
help you make money without you knowing it. They may be
doing more harm to you than help by trying it in the first
place.

If ever someone you know chanced upon your Adsense, make
sure they understand that they cannot click on your ads
under any circumstances. It would be wise to brief them on
important things about Adsense and what not to do with them.

Most pay per click networks have different measures in hand
to help protect website owners against click frauds. Other
search engines can track more than 50 data points, IP
address, browser's information, user's session info and
pattern recognition. They also have "systems" available
that detects fraud. Not to mention the specialized teams
monitoring how things are going and helping advertisers
stop click frauds.

Google offers suggestion on how to avoid click fraud. Using
"negative keywords" can be used to keep your Adsense
showing on products and services that are in no way related
to yours. Adding tracking URLs to your links so you can
track the traffic coming from Google.

Do not be caught in the Google click fraud. Be aware and be
wary.

You do know that internet marketing is hard work, don't
you? To make money online you had better be prepared to put
in some effort.

One of the most searched words on the internet when it
comes to making money is "free". Another one is "easy". Why
is it that people are always looking for the shortcut? What
about how to make money online working hard!

I saw an interesting post in the Warrior Forum about early
to rise and it led to a story about a life changing early
morning routine which I thought was fantastic. Since I have
always been an early riser over the years I could relate to
what he was saying.

When I had a full time job, and was starting my internet
business, I used to get up between 4:00 and 4:30 and spend
2-3 hours on my internet business before I went off to
work. Some days this was hard to do, but I had a goal of
working full time for myself. This is what motivated me!

The other thing was this, since I had to go to work at my
job I had limited time to spend on my internet business.
This forced me to be organized and to get things done. I
became very accomplishment oriented, which I am still
today. Having a daily to do list and marking things off as
I get them done really helps me.

Here is my point. Most of you are going to have to work
hard if you want to make money online. The exception would
be if you have money and can outsource everything. Even
then you have probably already worked hard to make the
money to be in the position you are in.

You really are going to have to fill up every minute of
your day at first. Finding the proper balance between work
and family will become important. And then make sure you
are actually working and not just hanging out online.

Surfing the net and not doing the things on your daily to
do list is not really working. Moving your busines forward
is the key. Ask yourself if what you are doing right now is
going to move your business forward in some way.

When you are new you should be spending 80-90% of your time
promoting your business. Making your website pretty is not
promoting yoru business. Get your site the way you want it
and then leave it alone.

Hanging out in discussion forums may not be productive
either. Especially if you are in a forum where all of the
other members are already promoting the same business as
each other.

To promote your business you wouild need to go to another
forum and hang out where there are new prospects. This is
another example of how you should be spending yoru time and
making it productive

In summary you are going to have to get up and go to work
everyday in your business. Only then will you get where you
want to be. This is how you turn hard work into making
money online.

To feel comfortable or at ease

To be assured that you are genuine

To believe they are getting value for money

Here are some words and phrases that will cleverly lay the

1. Make your visitors feel safe and assured that if they

going to be downloadable. But don't take that for granted.
State clearly that once they have parted with their cash
they will be able to instantly download your product.

4. When you are selling your own product get some
testimonials. If you are launching a new product and don't
have any yet, approach some of your previous customers and

Testimonials give your prospects that essential sense of
assurance that others have tried the product and found it

5. Prospective customers need to be persuaded that they are
going to get value for money, so make sure you have a
