Peak Oil and Automated Income

When cruising around the net looking for automated income
opportunities it is easy to find the promises that
different sites will make.  They sell the dream of
financial independence.  The ability to cast off the
shackles of the work-a-day world and enjoy the freedom and
flexibility that you deserve.

It's easy to buy into this dream because it's attractive
and can be done.  Automated income is a realistic dream
worth pursuing. However, there is a more practical reason
to look for an online opportunity.  The world is running
out of resources, particularly oil.

Now, I am not asserting some sort of doomsday or Mad Max
type of scenario.  What I do expect is that the cost of
getting from one place to the next is going to continue to
trend higher.  This will not only effect the cost of gas,
but the cost of everything that uses petroleum products.
This includes things that most people never even consider.
Things like anything plastic, fertilizer for our farms, and
the heat for many of our homes.  In fact, there are
thousands of commercial applications for pertroleum
products.  Most of them are beyond the understanding of
people like you and me.

Peak Oil is the theory that there is a point in time where
the maximum amount of oil taken out of the ground will
peak. After this point has been reached extraction will
fall into a terminal decline. A geologist named M King
Hubbert started and used this theory to accurately predict
that production in the United statesd would peak around
1970.  Regardless of your belief in that theory, it's hard
to argue that there is a limitless supply of oil.

American will also have to contend with increased
competition for a limited resource.  Emerging economies,
primarily China and India, are rapidly industrializing.
This increased competition will cause prices to trend
higher.

So what does that mean? Obviously it will be more expensive
to drive. Even if you make the argument for alternative
fuels, gasoline isn't going away anytime soon.  Potentially
there could be a shift toward more telecommuting.  Perhaps
even a population shift away from the outer suburbs and
back to more urban centers.  Regardsless of what you
believe about consumption, there will be a change in the
way we live.

So how do you adapt? It's easy to accept that emergence of
the internet has changed all of our lives.  There is access
to information that I could not even dream of when I was
growing up in the 1980s. This emergence is also largely
responsible for the explosion of the home business industry.

If you choose carefully and look for proven and tested
opportunities, you can stay ahead of the curve.  While
starting a home business does not entirely insulate you
from the increase cost of living, it will give you
flexibility and greater income to deal with the trend.
Automated Income is possible.  You do deserve success.
Following your dream of financial independence will keep
you ahead of the peak oil curve.

Personal Branding - Do Your Marketing Materials Make Your Spine Tingle?

Do your small business marketing materials, and the
personal brand image you project make your spine tingle?
Or, do you make excuses about how they look, apologize
because they're outdated, or find yourself saying to others
you're "working on getting new ones printed" soon?

A Story about a "Perfectly Polished" Woman...Almost

About a year ago, I met a woman at a business conference at
a local college.  She approached me to ask some questions
about the small business coaching services I offer.  She
was a very attractive woman, tall, with classically refined
features, and perfectly manicured and polished nails.  She
wore a well-cut designer suit, clutched a high-end handbag,
and wore shoes to "die for".  I thought, "Wow, this woman
puts on a winning image", and I felt a little embarrassed,
because I knew I was not as well "put together" that day.

Then, as she turned to walk away, I spotted it...

...a plastic tortoise shell hair clip.

Her dark, shiny hair was pulled back by a clip that looked
like it had layers of hair grooming product residue on it.
A corner piece of the clip was actually broken off.
Everything positive this woman had projected was
immediately tarnished by the negligent afterthought about
her hair accessory.

I assumed the woman must have been in a rush that morning,
and grabbed the first hair clip she could get her hands
on...because she looked so fabulous in every other way.

Recently, I saw her again at another small business
conference, and she looked fabulous, just as before.  We
spoke for a few moments, and as she turned to walk away,
there it was, AGAIN...

...the dirty, broken tortoise shell hair clip.

I then realized that she had no idea the hair clip had a
negative affect on her entire appearance.  She must have
thought no one would notice, or, because the rest of her
outfit was so polished, it wouldn't matter.

Wrong.

Details Matter

My point here is not to ridicule this woman: but, how one
bit of negligence can ruin the the presentation of your
entire small business marketing package, and, guess
what...there goes the sale!  (The same applies for men,
too.)

Seeing her made me realize that I had a few "marketing
package blunders" of my own---especially when it came to
the personal brand image I was projecting.

I realized that if I wanted to project being a polished,
knowledgeable professional, and be on track to grow a
million dollar business, I had better start looking like
one!

That's what made me decide it was time to redefine and
update my personal brand image, have professional
photographs taken, create a new website for my small
business marketing and coaching business, and invest in a
few more high quality pieces of clothing for my wardrobe.

Even getting eBook covers professionally designed is part
of my "marketing makeover" plan.  (My new personal brand
image has not been released yet, but will be in fall 2008.)

I know my attitude, and the actions I am taking will pay
off immensely.  When I started the Internet business
segment of my small business marketing and coaching
business, I was just "playing around".  Now, I've decided,
it's time to get serious.

Are you just playing around?  Or, do you want to be taken
seriously by your target audience.  Do you want to set
yourself apart from your competition, and sell a lot more
products and services?

Assess the *Tingle* Factor of Your Marketing Materials

Take about 30 minutes this week and objectively assess what
personal brand image you are projecting, and inventory the
quality of all of your small business marketing materials.
This includes your website, photographs of you, business
cards, brochures, product packaging, business forms --
anything that your prospects or clients see.   Do they look
consistent, professional, up-to-date, and polished?  Or, do
some of them look like your eight year-old child designed
them?  Do they make your spine tingle in a good way?  If
any of them give you shame, they're your "marketing package
blunders", and need rework!

Make a list of:

1. Which marketing materials need rework.

2. What you're going to do about them, and by what date.

3. Identify who can help you fix them.

I recommend you outsource and get some professional design
work done on your marketing materials, or development of
your personal brand image.

If you do, you'll be more confident in the small business
marketing image you project, and you'll see your business
sales rise, as well.

to have your own hosted website before you can really

It takes time and patients to build a website with around
10 pages will get you going, don't expect results right
away this takes time you have to optimize your site for the
search engines.

Advertising Your Products

Besides building a website you will want to get traffic to
your site while you wait for your site to become popular
which I mentioned could take some time with the search
engines.

Writing articles and getting them listed in directories is
one cheap way of getting back links to your site.  Have you
ever heard of forums?

This is another free way you can get links back to your
site the search engines are searching those forums all the
time the robots love them because they get fresh content
each and everyday.

Shrink, Click, Browse-Wrapped Agreements -- What Does It All Mean?

Shrink, Click, Browse-Wrapped Agreements -- What Does It All Mean?

The terms -- "shrink-wrapped", "click-wrapped", and
"browse-wrapped" -- are in widespread use. They describe
certain types of contracts, past and present. Originally,
these agreements were used solely for the licensing of PC
software. Now, they're used for a wide range of online
transactions.

What do these terms mean, and what's their legal
significance?

Manifestation of Assent

The key to understanding these terms is understanding a key
term in contract law -- "manifestation of assent".

One of the elements of an enforceable contract is that an
offer is made and accepted. Manifestation of assent refers
to the event that indicates acceptance has occurred.

Traditionally, assent was manifested by signing a contract
document. Beginning with the PC software world,
manifestation of assent was defined by the seller to
include events such as tearing open a product envelope, or
installing software. Later, manifestation of assent morphed
to reflect marketing requirements and advances in
technology.

In the Beginning, There Were Only True Shrink-Wrapped
Agreements

Way back in the early 80's (in the days of 5 1/2 inch
diskettes), the term "shrink-wrapped" agreement described
the prevailing practice in the PC software marketplace of
placing the license agreement between the product package
and the clear shrink wrap that covered the package. I
remember going into a PC software retailer and looking at
the back side of the product package to see the license.
You could read it clearly through the shrink wrap.

The theory was relatively simple -- a consumer could review
the license terms on the outside of the package, and if
they were not acceptable, the consumer simply would not
purchase. The act of purchasing was the manifestation of
assent.

At this point the term "shrink-wrapped" license was truly
descriptive of the process. This was before marketers
increased their influence over the process.

Enter The Software Marketers

It wasn't long before software marketers exerted their
influence in the rapidly growing PC software marketplace.
Marketers wanted to use the "real estate" on the back side
of the product package to sell the product (to list
features and benefits, add testimonials, etc.) So, the
contract was simply relegated to the inside of the product
package.

In most cases, the license was printed on an envelope
containing the diskettes, so that it could be read before
the envelope was opened. The message at the top of the
envelope was essentially, "If you open me, you own me",
meaning that the act of opening the envelope inside the
product package was the manifestation of assent.

This process continued to be referred to as a
"shrink-wrapped" licensing process even though the license
agreement was not presented behind the shrink wrap. And the
process was generally held to result in an enforceable
contract.

Enter The Click-Wrapped License

Next in the development of licensing schemes came the
electronic equivalent of the shrink-wrapped license -- the
click-wrapped license. Here, the manifestation of assent
shifted from purchasing a product or tearing open an
enclosed envelope to a mouse click (and usually an
additional action).

Click-Wrapped licenses differ slightly in terms of how the
license agreement is presented. For example:

*   presentation prior to download -- assent manifested by
click, plus the act of downloading; and

*  presentation during installation -- assent manifested by
click, plus installation.

Click-wrapped agreements are usually presented to the
purchaser in a scroll box configuration. Enforceability
depends significantly on how the agreement is presented.
This is a summary of the 5 tips for enforceability:

1.  conspicuous presentation during registration process -
the scroll box with the agreement should be presented
conspicuously during the registration process;

2.   reasonable notice of the existence of contract terms -
this is the purpose of the text that is in all caps at the
very top of the agreement (ABC COMPANY IS WILLING TO GRANT
YOU RIGHTS TO ESTABLISH AND USE AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS SITE
...);

3.   unambiguous manifestation of assent - this is the
purpose of the ACCEPT button - place both the ACCEPT and
the DECLINE buttons on the scroll box just under the
scrollable window - set the default to DECLINE - make sure
that registration cannot be completed unless the ACCEPT
button is clicked;

4.   opportunity to review contract terms - the scrollable
window should show some of the text of the agreement below
the notice section without the requirement of scrolling to
see it - the text should be in a legible font, clear, and
readable - the scroll box should permit the user to review
the contract terms easily at the user's own pace, and the
user should be able to navigate up and down through the
entire text of the agreement in the scroll box; and

5.   opportunity to print agreement - the scroll box
presentation should clearly indicate an opportunity to
print the agreement.

Finally -- The Browse-Wrapped "Agreement"

Beginning in the late 90's, this odd term was bandied about
in the industry and later was referenced in case law
(thereby legitimizing it as a term) -- generally referring
to an "agreement" that does not require a click to indicate
assent. The classic example of a browse-wrapped "agreement"
is a website's Terms of Use. Essentially, it's linked from
the home page, and you may simply browse it (or not).

But that's the catch -- if there's no click or other clear
manifestation of assent, is there a binding contract? To
date, case law indicates that browse-wrapped agreements are
only enforceable in special circumstances indicating that
the user had actual knowledge of the agreement followed by
conduct of the user that indicated assent.

Conclusion

Beginning with the true shrink-wrapped software license
agreement in the early 80's, the licensing scheme that has
served the PC software industry well has morphed to reflect
the advances in technology.

Today, the click-wrapped agreement is the norm in the
online world -- significantly exceeding its original use
for software licensing to now include SaaS, membership,
subscription, and other customer agreements.

How to Pick Article Topics

I've already written about why it's important to write
articles, and it seems a lot of you agree because I keep
getting emails saying that you want to write articles but
don't know what to write about.

It can be hard to decide what to write about, especially if
you are trying to write a lot of content and get it out
into the world.

Every industry is different and it is definitely harder to
come up with topics in some industries - but if you get
creative you can always find something.

Here are some suggestions I've given to clients recently:

Lingerie industry:

- How to care for lingerie so it lasts longer

- How to feel sexy even if you don't have the

perfect figure

- How to use lingerie to add romance to a marriage

- How to pick lingerie

- Best occasions to make sure you have new lingerie
(honeymoon, his birthday, romantic get away, second
honeymoon etc)

- Wear lingerie for yourself - it's not always about
looking sexy for a man, you can wear pretty lingerie under
your clothes to feel good about yourself

Pest control industry:

- The cost of ignoring insect problems (especially termites)

- What to look for in a pest control company (or how to
pick the best pest control company)

- What should you expect to pay a pest control company

- Common household pests and what they do - just annoying
or do they actually damage your house?

- Insects and knitwear or clothing - how to protect your
items

Tool industry:

- How to pick the best tools for the job

- What tools you should always have on hand

- How to use a ...(jackhammer, saw etc)

- Tool brands - their reputation, your insights and reviews

- Weekend projects you can do with a hammer (saw, table saw
etc)

Those are just some ideas to show you that even if you
don't think your industry is all that interesting to write
about, with a little creativity you can come up with topics.

Here are some general tips that apply to any industry.

Lists are popular, so you can always write articles that
list important facts.  For example:

- The top 5 things you must know before you buy a...

- The top 3 things your xxx (doctor, lawyer, florist etc)
doesn't want you know

- The top 5 most popular ... (books, CDs, blade saws,
shoes, bras etc)

"How to" articles are also wildly popular.  Here are some
samples:

- How to pick the right (plastic surgeon) for you  (replace
plastic surgeon with whatever is relevant to you: doctor,
lawyer, psychic etc)

- How to pick the best xxx for your xxx (lifestyle, weight,
height etc)

- How to spot a good deal

- How to avoid the biggest mistake most xxx buyers make

- How to spot a fraud/fake/dud etc

A couple last tips before I wrap up:

- You can always set a Google alert to see what people are
Blogging about and see what the buzz is in your industry.

- You can also look at your FAQs (or create them if you
don't have any) and expand your answers into an article
whenever it makes sense.

- Ask your site visitors and customers what their biggest
questions are and then create articles responding to their
questions.

- Write an article that teaches people how to use what you
sell.  Teaching people to consume your products is
important.

- Share your experience or opinions.

- Take a newsworthy item and write your take on the
situation.

I don't believe there is any industry out there that you
can't come up with great article topics for.  So, put on
your creative hat and start brainstorming - and then get
writing!

I happen to feel that affiliate marketing is a fantastic

and negatives to getting started as an affiliate marketer.

Double Your Income - How to Create an Electrifying Money Goal

Would you like to make more money and double your income in
the next year?  If you're like most solo entrepreneurs, the
thought sounds very attractive.  But, then things start
getting fuzzy about how you are going to accomplish that
goal.  You might even talk yourself out of thinking it's
even possible!

Before you know it, time slips away, and you've seen no
forward momentum toward increasing your income.  Does this
sound familiar to you?

I, too, at one time, had this problem.  But, then I changed
my mindset...

One day, when I was talking with a professor from the
graduate school I was attending, he asked me what direction
I was headed with my M.B.A. and women-owned business.  I
told him I wanted to grow my consulting firm, do some
speaking, and earn a decent income ($150,000 sounded about
right).  Right then, he cautioned me not to think 'too
small' and limit myself.  He told me, "Think small, and
you'll get small.  You might as well think big, because you
have nothing to lose, and everything to gain."

That conversation was one of those "Aha" moments for me.
Immediately, my mindset shifted, and from that day forward,
I began to challenge myself at every opportunity to 'think
bigger'.  Now, my income goals for my coaching and
consulting business are to create a 7-figure business.  Can
I achieve it?  You bet!  And so can you, if you set your
own Electrifying Money Goal.

The small business marketing and money growth system I've
created is called your "Electrifying Money Goal".  The
concept is simple, and has worked to help me double my
income the last year, and be on track to double it again
this year.

Here are four small business marketing and money growth
strategies you can use today to leverage this powerful tool:

1. Choose a Short Time Frame

The shorter the time frame, the better.  Short time frames
give you clarity, help you focus, and create momentum
because their deadline is a short time away...which helps
to get you moving to accomplish the goal.  I suggest
working within a 30 - 90 day timeframe.  This timeframe
compels you to think of specific actions you're going to
take to 'now' to achieve your money goal.  Give yourself
too much time, and you may procrastinate because a sense of
urgency in accomplishing the goal is lost.

2. Stretch Yourself

The Electrifying Money Goal gets you to stretch your
thinking, and spark your creativity about how you're going
to reach the goal.  Aim too low and it's likely you won't
make any significant changes in your business, or progress.
 That's why I recommend you create a 'stretch goal'.
Stretch goals are seemingly unobtainable with present
resources.  But, by specifying the unattainable, you are
required to "think outside the box".  Doing so will help
you improve your performance by a magnitude you had never
thought possible.

Be willing to "stretch yourself" to achieve the money goal
of doubling your income.  I recommend that solo
entrepreneurs choose an amount that is 50 percent more than
they are currently earning, for the next 30 - 90 day
period.  Challenge yourself!  What do you have to lose?

3. Pick Low-Hanging Fruit, First

To achieve the money goal you determined, look for the
low-hanging fruit that's just waiting for you to pluck it
off the "Money Tree".  Low-hanging fruit are typically
services and products you already have that can be
re-launched, re-titled, or expanded.  Dust these items off,
because they represent unrealized income increasing
opportunities.

4. Be Creative and Forge New Ideas

In addition to looking at existing products and services
you can offer (the low-hanging fruit), be open to new
ideas, services, and products you can create to achieve
your goal.  The whole idea of the Electrifying Money Goal
is to take a big leap forward in expanding your solo
entrepreneur business.

Big leaps forward require passion, courage, and a plan.  By
creating an Electrifying Money Goal every 30 - 90 days,
this will help you create the energy and action steps to
take to achieve your ideal income faster and easier than
you ever thought was possible!

PayDotCom for Affiliate Marketing

PayDotCom for Affiliate Marketing

PayDotCom is one of the simplest affiliate networks to use
for both vendors and affiliates. There is of course no cost
for affiliates to join and promote as many affiliate
products as they wish. Although the selling fee for each
product is technically split between the PayDotCom vendor
and affiliate, the vendor pays 100% of the fee and then
recoups 50% of that small fee by subtracting it from the
affiliate's commission. The PayDotCom system keeps track of
these details.

For vendors there are fee credits which can be purchased
through PayDotCom in advance which can dramatically reduce
the vendor's total fee costs. Affiliates are not eligible
for any type of fee credits.

Vendors are allowed to join PayDotCom and list one product
initially for free. PayDotCom vendors who wish to sell
unlimited products can do so by upgrading with a small,
one-time fee. Once one sale for a product is made it will
be listed in the PayDotcom marketplace. There, affiliates
may select to promote it for the commission which the
vendor has established. Most commissions given are in the
range of 50%.

A vendor begins the process by creating a sales page and
specifying it's location in the product's setup in
PayDotCom. The sales page for the product must be hosted in
a hosting account owned by the vendor. The sales page
contains the PayDotCom buy button which the code is
generated for in the vendor's product setup area. The
vendor specifies the price for the product in the setup
which results in the correct amount being shown on the buy
page and resulting PayPal page. All PayDotCom sales go
through PayPal.

Once a sale for the product is completed, the buyer is
directed to the thank-you page which the vendor listed in
the product's setup. The thank-you page is created and
hosted by the vendor in the vendor's hosting account. This
page is where the buyer normally receives instructions for
how the product will be delivered.

All PayDotCom sales are immediately deposited directly into
the vendor's PayPal account. It is then the vendor's
responsibility to pay any affiliate commissions due. These
commissions are due no later than 30 days after the close
of the month in which the sale was made in. PayDotCom
offers a mass-pay download with which vendors can easily
pay all affiliate commissions with one payment process.

Refunds are the responsibility of the PayDotCom vendor
since the buyer made payment directly to the vendor via
PayPal. The vendor is free to establish their own refund
policy. Refunds should be done via PayPal's refund link
found in the PayPal transaction details page. If done in
this matter, the PayDotCom system will receive notification
of the refund and will deduct the commission from the
affiliate's commissions due.

Affiliates may promote unlimited products. An affiliate
usually begins the process by visiting the PayDotCom
marketplace and selecting a specific product to promote.
There in the marketplace the affiliate can join that
vendor's program. After joining the program, the affiliate
can retrieve their affiliate link to the product in their
account's list of active products.

PayDotCom affiliates are free then to promote the link with
various methods. Successful affiliates use PayPerClick,
their own website, or both. Beginning affiliates often use
unproductive methods such as free classified sites and
rented email lists. An affiliate's best choice in promoting
PayDotCom products is with an optimized website which
attracts natural search engine traffic.

PayDotCom affiliates are far better off choosing products
which are not in competitive areas. Unfortunately, too many
beginners choose to promote the very competitive Internet
marketing products. The intense competition in these areas
makes success extremely difficult for all but the very
experienced marketers.

Once sales are made, the PayDotCom system automatically
keeps track of the total vendor sales and corresponding
affiliate commissions which are due. Most PayDotCom vendors
pay by the 15th of the following month which the sales were
made in.

questions and comments there concerning all aspects of

Are You Really Saying the Right Things In Your Sales Copy?

Have you ever read a sales copy, or promotion copy... and
wished somehow it'd sound just a bit more velvety... flow
slightly better and increase your desires towards the main
product so you can actually make the buying decision or
SPEND MONEY for it?

Well if you have, you're not alone. The fact is, many sales
letters out there are 'crippled' like this.

You see, they'd seem really nice as a big picture... but as
you read down the page, second by second your heart just
seems to stop and tend to make you breathe harder... I
mean, sometimes it even makes you think "What the hell is
this!?" and make you mad just by reading a few sentences
from it!

And of course, there are reasons why this happened, which
I'll reveal in a while...

Many of times beginning copywriters write to what THEY
think persuades prospects into buying. What they don't know
is how bad this can become when they continuously put copy
in the way they do.

Because of the dissonance in desires... plus the unnatural
tone in the sales message, sometimes it makes people angry
just by reading it. It's like dating you could be a
guy who isn't stating his intentions clearly in a way the
GIRL wants to hear it... and sometimes make her feel mad
just by spending time with YOU.

So how can you make things right?

When I write copy I never consider negative intentions, but
instead describe with candor and smoothness what
BENEFITS I'd visualize my prospects dream about at night...
and lead them down the page with these 'points' like a
greased slide (better, while building trust in between).

I mean, instead of writing from the standpoint of a
"Fisherman's" view, have you ever thought of really voicing
your heart out from the "Fish's" desires? (Think of it...
most purchases are emotional, which explains why women
would gladly pay thousands of dollars for an LV bag... and
walk away with a smile, feeling good with their new
purchase!

Sometimes, all you need to do, is "paint a picture" of the
STORY your prospects already had in mind. Because, if what
they read resonates with what they desire deep inside their
minds, they'll nod their heads in silence holding on to
every word you say... and WANT TO BUY from you as soon as
possible since they felt such strong connection with YOU.

So think about this when you write a sales copy next time.
What would be the "RIGHT" thing to say to your prospects,
which will drive them frantic and give them a sleepless
night if they don't take action on your advice? After you
know what THEY are... well, state them CLEARLY.

As for results from doing this... the kind of sales,
profits and wealth you'll create once you deliver the
message your prospects all want to hear well, I'll
let you amaze yourself.

How can you tell the right tool from a wrong one? It's not
always easy but keep this in mind... Any optimization
product that is intentionally designed to violate Google's
acceptable usage policy is likely to get the boot. But
you're better off without it anyway. Or at least better off
not using that one function that pounds Google's servers;
automated rank reporting.

Checking your ranking is just one aspect of SEO software
that most of the product suites include simply because it
is expected. Most people drank the "You need to know where
you are to know where you are going" Kool-Aid long ago. And
it's not their fault. We've all been there. And in truth
that's very true for actual optimization efforts. But it
makes no sense for simply seeing where your web pages rank.
Sure it's nice to see how far you've come, but does it help
establish your target? No. You are still shooting for
number one! The target never changes, just your focus. So
keep your eyes on the prize and stay focused.

As a professional SEO trainer I see people everyday who
make the same mistake of focusing more on what's behind
them, than in front. Consider this; have you ever seen a
horror movie where the soon to be victim keeps looking over
her shoulder at the crazed killer, oblivious to the
obstacles in front, and you just wanted to scream "Just
keep going! Don't look back!"

My advice to you is "Just keep going! Don't look back!"

More easily said than done, right? So how can you focus
more on what matters?

Select an SEO software suite that does more than a one
trick pony. Many tools built their reputation by making you
believe you have to know EXACTLY where you rank, for any
given keyword, at any time. Why? I mean, what is your goal?
Number one, right? So enter your keyword and scan the first
three pages of Google or any search engine. If it's not in
the first thirty matches nobody is likely to see it.
Problem solved. Just keep going with your eye on the prize.

So what should you look for in SEO software? There are two
biggies. First, try to find a tool that offers good link
building capabilities. The ability to find and retain the
best link partners (reciprocal linking) is your most
important task if you want to do well on Google. Linking
alone is responsible for close to 87% of any given Web
page's success on Google. Beyond that, try to find a tool
that offers unique methods for gaining one way inbound
links, such as article marketing. And definitely make sure
the tool can spot Google's elusive "authority sites." This
is huge! One product suite I've used that works great, and

Second, try to find an app that will dig into your site
just like a search engine and tell you how to best optimize
it. Just keep in mind that not all tools are created equal
in this regard. I tried it with WebPosition Gold through
several versions with no luck. I could consistently
optimize my pages faster, and get better results, without
using the software's recommendations.

But some tools are very good. One product that does a great
job with analyzing your site and recommending changes that
will shoot you up the ranking ladder is

WITH the search engines, NOT against them. The linking and

Yahoo and all other major search engines. And they do not
interfere with the search engine or burn up its resources.
In other words, they are safe and can help take you to the
top.
