Are eBooks Better Than Physical Books?
To be honest I love all books. I really think there is a
place in every home for a selection of hard cover and paper
back books. They can look great in a bookcase and can often
hold sentimental value for the owner.

Having said that, I do believe that eBooks are the way of
the future and there are many reasons why they are
preferable to the traditional book with paper pages.

From an authors perspective there are many benefits. An
eBook can be produced in a short period of time, sometimes
just a week os so whereas most paper books can take up to a
year before they reach the shelves of book stores. Once the
eBook is finished it can be distributed to thousands of
customers in a very short period of time. While I do agree
that to have your book produced in a physical form can add
credibility to you as an author there are many highly
respected eBook authors providing quality products online
today. Of course, there is always the option available to
turn your eBook into a physical book.

From a sellers point of view, eBooks are a dream product.
As long as you have rights to resell the book, whether it
be resale rights, master resale rights or private label
rights, you can sell the same copy over and over again.
With private label rights (PLR) you can actually claim to
be the author making any changes you like to the text or
the graphics. Some authors will allow you to rebrand their
books with your own links potentially making it extremely
viral.

From a buyers perspective eBooks can be obtained far
quicker than paper books. No more having to go to a book
store or waiting for the postman to arrive. In some cases
the eBook is delivered as an attachment directly to you via
email. Many sellers will send you to a download page where
more often than not you can not only download your book but
a number of bonus items as well making your purchase
greater value.

Many authors will capture your details during the buying
process. This enables them to provide you, usually free of
charge, any updated versions of their product. I've not
seen this practice with any physical books.

Some people don't like to read eBooks on their computer
screen and would rather have a physical book that they can
carry around with them or snuggle up with on the lounge on
a rainy day. Well you can still do this with eBooks. All
you need is an eBook reader or some sort of portable media
device. Depending on the size of its memory they can often
hold thousands of books.

When you think about it, eBooks are far better in terms of
the impact on the environment. Yeah sure, some people will
still print them off but the majority will simply store
them on their computers or portable media.

For some people, myself included, eBooks have made reading
a pleasure. I personally suffer from an eye condition
called Keratoconus. I love to read but it can often be a
struggle if the pages are not backlit like on a computer
screen or a pda or some such media. So there's another
reason many people will choose eBooks.

I hope this gives you some insight into why I believe
eBooks are better than physical books, at least, most of
the time.
